Dozens, and sometimes even hundreds, of developers work together to create some of the most mesmerizing imagery and piece together the most breathtaking visual landscapes gamers have ever feasted their eyes on. However, more often than not, it’s the gamer who creates the most imaginative things out of existing characters and locations.

For decades now, gamers have cut characters from different worlds and pasted them on to a collage together, often with unique art styles too. Here are 10 amazing crossovers between PlayStation characters that can only ever exist like this.

10Assassin’s Creed x Metal Gear Solid

Two of the deadliest assassins together would usually seem redundant, but as Desmond Miles ofAssassin’s Creedis a parkour champion, something that a gruff and set in his ways Solid Snake wouldn’t dare try, and Solid Snake is as ruthless as they come, this crossover has more potential than meets the eye. On top of that, the way artistVincentius Matthewhas built Miles’ outfit into theMetal Gear Solidarmor is themost bad-ass and iconic outfit that is just waiting to be cosplayed.

9The Shadow Of Colossus x Legend of Zelda

No two colliding worlds would go together in such a sublime and picturesque way as created here byJohannamation. AsZeldahas a grand sense of adventure and has been known to save a princess or two in the past, the pointy eared adventurer taking Wander’s place inShadow of the Colossusis almost a no brainer. Both games even require the player todiscover shrines. Though the game’s ending might fair differently as Zelda would think twice before slaying innocent beings, it’s exciting to think, and to see, what could be.

8Final Fantasy x Pokemon

With thenewly released remakeofFinal Fantasy VII, it’s only just too late to incorporate these cute, furry, aggressive, and electric monsters, but the modding community could always have some fun with it. ArtistAndrew Ryanhas perfectly aligned the Pokemon with characters from FFVII, and fascinatingly enough, characters from both universes look like they have been modeled after each other. It’s an unlikely and far-reaching crossover, but one that also fits better than many others.

7Ico x Shadow of the Colossus x The Last Guardian

Every fan of Team Ico knows that the games are somewhat related, eitherspirituallyor through the games’ deep and secretive lore that gamers are constantly trying to make sense out of. But in this piece created byChristie Zullo, all three games in the series(?) form this magical art that looks like one of the greatest fantasy movies of all time.

Looking like something of aNever-Ending StorymeetsThe Iron Giantmythical quest, with the giant bird-dog fromThe Last Guardianand the third colossus fromShadow of the Colossus, this is a crossover that dreams are made of.

6God Of War x The Witcher

A couple of hairy, muscly lads playing a friendly card game and drinking a couple of jars of beer is nothing to worry about, right? Right?! Created by self-proclaimed God of War mega fan,ValhallAwaits77, he has imagined a face-off between the manliest anti-heroes that the PlayStation has to offer, which would end up with a lot of collateral damage, including a cute Pikachu and other familiar faces that are standing idly by. With anarsenal of weaponrystrapped to each of their backs and countless kilograms of armor protecting them, it bodes a question we ask ourselves every day; who would win in a fight, a monster slayer or aGod of War?

5The Last Of Us 2 x Ghost of Tsushima

This fan art was created by Sucker Punch’s very own artist,Edward Pun.The Last Of Us 2andGhost of Tsushima, two of the most brutal gamesin recent memory, sometimes overwhelmingly so, feature two characters labeled vicious murderers that have lost people closest to them. This piece is great because it shows them in a peaceful moment, happily playing music together on a hilltop. There may very well be hoards of sliced up samurai bodies just behind that hill, but it doesn’t matter as the two look like they’re completely in the moment.

4Katamari x Shadow Of The Colossus

Dating back a few years to whenKatamariwas a cult hit, a game wherein a ball started off no bigger than a golf ball, but with more objects that stuck to it, it grew bigger and bigger. Well, this crossover, created by an artist that only goes by the name ofSnake, imagines the ball growing big enough for three Colossi to stick to the ball, and not only that but they look totally defeated. If only Wander had that instead of his sword, he would have gotten the job done a lot quicker.

3Crash Bandicoot x Spyro

A team up betweenCrash BandicootandSpyro The Dragonhas long been a fever dream of 90s kids, as they aretwo of the best games with animal protagonists, and that dream has never been rendered better than it has byAlyssa Veysey, as Crash is riding dragon-back, just like how he has ridden on a hog inCrash Bandicoot, a polar bear inCrash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and a tiger inCrash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

The exact gameplay of those levels, where the player hits circle to sprint, would be even more exciting if that mode of transportation happened to be Spyro.

2Assassin’s Creed x Metal Gear Solid

Double Leaf’sMetal Gear Solid/Assassin’s Creedcrossover doesn’t so much combine the PlayStation icons, but it pits them against each other, with one armed to the teeth with gadgets and donning a bulletproof vest, while the other is covered in metal armor and bearing nothing but a knife. But most intriguing of all is, which makes a better hiding place, a cardboard box, or a bail of hay?

1Metal Gear Solid x Persona 5

As the main characters in bothMetal Gear SolidandPersona 5keep a watchful eye over what’s going on at all times,Persona 5doesn’t quite have the stealth capabilities that Solid Snake does inMetal Gear Solid. One of the most fun and exciting parts ofMGSis hiding under boxes (and sometimes rolling around in oil drums,) and now the silentPersonaprotagonist can experience it too, but it’s only through creative fan art like this one created byLongest Distancewhere such an exciting crossover could ever happen.
