ThePS3system was infamously tricky to develop games on. That’s one of the reasons why Sony says it’s hard to port over games to other hardware via backwards compatibility. In contrast to Microsoft and the Xbox family of consoles, they are far behind the times.

While there are many first-party PS3 games stuck on the hardware, there are also plenty of third-party PS3 games that released onXbox 360too one can play onXbox Oneinstead. There are other options too for PlayStation fans such as PS Now. WhileFallout 3isn’t onPS4naturally, unlike Xbox One, it is live through PS Now. That’s not as good as popping in a disc, but it is something.
10Brutal Legend
Brutal Legendwas a mix of rock and roll, action platforming, and an RTS all rolled into one. Double Fine is known to create unique gaming experiences but this might have been their most ambitious title in terms of a budget. The music licensing and star power this game got is out of this world with Jack Black being the frontman. That budget juxtaposed to how much it made might be why it never got a sequel, but at least it’s still playable somewhere.
Now thatMass Effecthas come back in a remastered trilogy, fans have been itching to see this treatment done to other EA trilogies likeDead Space. All three games can beplayed on Xbox One. Strangely enough so can the third game on PS4 but only through PS Now. Why the other two aren’t on the service is beyond anyone’s guess.

8Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Deus Ex: Human Revolutionwas a reboot/prequel to this cyberpunk RPG series that took many years to make. Although reviews weren’t keen on the boss battles, the rest of the comments were pretty high.

The most striking thing about the game was its gold and black aesthetic. It got one sequel, but now this team is working onMarvel’s Avengersso it’s questionable when this series will return beyond backwards compatibility.
7Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Originsand its sequel can be playedon Xbox One. This is great considering the first game had loading issues on the past consoles. Both games run well on Xbox One in other words. It’s a shame then that PS4 fans can’t relive the series in the same way. As this is also BioWare, maybe it too will get a collection likeMass Effectwith the third game included on perhaps PS5.
6Dungeon Siege III
Dungeon Siege IIIis an often overlooked action RPG from this console era. It’s the only game in the series Square Enix published after they acquired the brand. Why there hasn’t been more is a mystery as it received decent enough reviews. There aren’t many couch co-op RPGs like this anymore so the more ports it gets toplatforms like the PS4, the better.
5Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIIIand its two sequels are both backward compatibleon Xbox One. This trilogy is controversial for many reasons but in hindsight, the first game is not as bad as how some made it out to be. Among the three,Final Fantasy XIII-2is the best of the trilogy which adds time travel and monster catching to the turn-based RPG formula. That should get a PS4 port if nothing else.
4Grand Theft Auto IV
Grand Theft Auto Vlaunched in 2013 and is still dominating the sales charts. That can be linked to its online mode, which is very popular right now, especially on Twitch.

Some fans of the series might also like to go back and play some of the older games though, likeGrand Theft Auto IV. At the very least, PS4 players can download the PS2 trilogy which is also nice.
3Portal
BothPortalgames areon Xbox One, separate fromThe Orange Box. These are still the very pique of AAA puzzle games thanks to Valve blending in the right challenge on top of having an interesting story. That narrative could also be funny with some of the most memed catchphrases still being shared online, not to mention the music. It would be great to see PlayStation fans be able to play these masterpieces again
2Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Splinter Cell: Blacklistis the last core game to come out in the franchise since 2013. Ubisoft has used Sam Fisher in other game cameos since but he has not had a game to call his own in a long time. A majority of this series can be playedon Xbox Onebut this is the game that matters. It’s the one PlayStation fans want to see come back or get a sequel to the most.
1SSX
SSX, orSSX 2012, is another example of a game series that has been stagnant for over a decade. This is the only game in the series that can be easily played on consoles. It’s better than nothing but snowboardingfans of the PS4are dying to see the series return in some form even if that means just a simple port to accompany the Xbox One’s. Maybe this EA series can get a remastered collection too.
