WhileIce-Types may not be all that great inPokemon, they are far more balanced and viable withinCoromon. It resists five different types of attacks making it quite useful defensively in battles.

While it’s unsurprisingly weak against Fire-Type attacks, that does little to stop a team from using a frozen friend to bring home the bacon in battle. While there are several to choose from, a few are obvious choices for the best Ice-Types in the game.
Bearealis
The easiest way to get Bearealis is to get a Cubzero as a starter from Professor Nelson and slowly evolve it up.Cubzero evolves into Aroara at level 16 and Aroara evolves into Bearealis at level 34. Otherwise, players will need to pass through the Frozen Cavern which contains several puzzles which is only available after they complete the story at Alvai.

InPokemonas well as clones like it, starters always end up being serious powerhouses. This is because players tend to form particularly strong bonds with them and developers don’t want them to become too weak over time. Bearealis has impressive base stats which only get better upon leveling up. This is especially apparent with its physical attack stat which can make available moves like Avalanche, Phantom Spike, and Flying Kick pack a serious punch. Its defense stats aren’t shabby either, allowing for it to take hits and keep fighting back.

Blizzian
Blizzian can be caught all on its own, but can also be evolved up from a Blizzburd.Blizzburd evolves into Blizzian at level 40.
As it has two useful traits in Winter Coat and Cool Body, Blizzian can be quite a useful ice fighter. It does boast high HP and a Special Attack that even beats out Bearealis. However, it does have a limited move pool outside of those that do Ice-Type damage to utilize that stat with only Whoosh and Feint Spurts being available.
However, most of its Ice-Type attacks it can use also have lots of secondary effects giving it a bit more flexibility. Moves like Permafrost, Frost Feathers, Sharp Snowball, and Clearing Wind can all utilize Blizzian’s powerful Special Attack stat while giving it an added edge in battle.

Krybeest
Krybeest can be caught, but it also is easy enough to evolve up into it.Kryo evolves into Krypeek at level 18 and Kypeek evolves into Krybeest at level 39.
Krybeest isn’t the strongest attacker, but that’s not what it was built for. Itsdecent defensive statscombined with a whopping HP make it a defensive force that’s hard to take down. Its Traits can make survival that much easier as well. Shiny can make it so opponents might simply miss their attacks, Cool Body can stop opponents in their tracks with a bit of luck, and Snowman can allow it to continuously increase its health.

Krybeest’s move pool makes it even harder to take down as well. It can bring on the weather with Snowfall to make the Trait Snowman effective all on its own, Ice Wall can prevent opponents from launching physical attacks, and Intensifice can restore HP while even raising its Special Defense stats. Last Stand can make it extremely difficult to knock out and it can even learn Smokescreen to make it almost impossible to hit when combined with the Trait Shiny.

Arcturos
It’s possible to catch Arcturos on its own, but evolving it up from Arcta isn’t difficult eitheras it evolves at level 24.
Being able to increase its chance of landing critical hits with the Trait Lucky isn’t bad and being able to guarantee it starts snowing without having to us a move using the Trait Antarctic isn’t shabby either. However, where Arcturos truly excels is as a special attacker, so Lucky is likely the best choice to use.
Using Sharp Snowball can help increase the chances of getting critical hits even more. With attacks like Blizzard, Crystal Beam, and Feint Spurts in its arsenal that draw from its high Special Attack, it has plenty of options to take the opponent down with. Just understand that Arcturosis a bit of a glass cannon. While it can dish out some serious damage with a bit of luck, it doesn’t hold up that well defensively compared to other Ice-Types.

Glamoth
While it’s possible to simply catch Glamoth on its own, it’s much easier to catch a Frova and level it up. While it’s rarer to find, it is available in the first route of the entire game, making it a great Ice-Type pick for anyone that didn’t choose Cubzero as their starter. It evolves from Frova to Froshell at level 20 and from Froshell to Glamoth at level 38.
While Glamoth is fragile in some ways, its Special Attack is the highest out of all Ice-TypeCoromon in the game. It also has a move pool with a wide variety of different types of attacks. Frozen Spikes, Super Drain, Wind Blast, and Feint Spurts are all different typings and can pile on some serious damage.
