This is largely due to the way certain enemies are designed; those that look threatening are usually quite easy to attack, but the cute enemies are a different story. In a different world, these adorable creatures may have been household pets or companions, but inFinal Fantasy, they must be fought.

7Mover - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion

While completing the optional missions inCrisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Zack will encountera variety of unique enemieshe wouldn’t meet otherwise. The more missions he completes, the more powerful the enemies become, but not all of them are as frightening-looking as one would expect them to be.

The Mover enemy is arguably one of the most dangerous enemies in all ofCrisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion; it has extremely high defense and is also able to cast some seriously powerful spells. Through this description alone, one would expect the Mover to look quite sinister, but this isn’t the case; the Mover is nothing more than an orange bouncing ball with two tiny dots for eyes. The Mover was also quite cute in the originalCrisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, but its upgraded appearance in the remake is much sweeter.

6Daigoro - World Of Final Fantasy

Most characters inWorld of Final Fantasyare designed to look quite cute, even if they aren’t on the same side as the protagonist. This description can also be applied to the enemies fought in the field, all of whom tend to look adorable in one way or another.

Daigoro made its first appearance inFinal Fantasy 10, where it served asYojimbo’s loyal canine companion. Whenever Yojimbo wished it, Daigoro would lunge at Tidus and his companions, inflicting some serious damage. 5Tonberry - Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Even thoughthe Tonberry is a recurring enemyin theFinal Fantasyseries, its appearance can change considerably depending on the entry it appears in. For the most part, much of its design will remain the same, but the realistic style used to bring it to life inFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeserved to make it much cuter than any other title it has appeared in.

InFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, Cloud, Tifa, and Barret encounter the Tonberry during an argument with Don Corneo’s lackeys. Apparently, Corneo’s men purchased the Tonberry from the Black Market in the hope that it could defeat Cloud and his friends. During the battle, the Tonberry will slowly wander the arena while brandishing a tiny knife. Long-time fans of the series will know to maintain a safe distance while facing such a foe, but newcomers mightn’t be able to help themselves given how cute the Tonberry is.

4Fury - Final Fantasy 12

The Necrohol of Nabudis inFinal Fantasy 12is crawling with some of the most frightening and powerful enemies in all ofFinal Fantasy. While it’s possible to enter this abandoned capital quite early in the game, doing so would be unwise due to the horrors lurking within.

Inside the Necrohol of Nabudis waits three optional bosses, two of which must be defeated to unlock the battle against Chaos. Upon initiating the battle against Fury, a Catoblepas enemy will prepare to lunge at the party, only for it to be defeated by an adorable purple dreamhare. According to its description, this tiny rabbit is possessed by a “wrathful spirit,” but this trait never detracts from the creature’s cuteness.

While playing through aFinal Fantasytitle, players will encounter awide selection of intimidating foes, but not all of them seek to inflict harm. Some seek to live peaceful lives and only appear in battle to ask the protagonists for certain items.

InFinal Fantasy 9, there are two variations of the Yan; one is aggressive and will attack relentlessly, while the other is a peaceful sort that asks Zidane and his friends for a Diamond.Parting with valuable itemsmerely because an enemy asks doesn’t seem like too much of a rewarding exchange, but it’s hard to say no to the Yan’s adorable face.

1Nutkin - Final Fantasy 5

Final Fantasy 5is widely considered one of the most challengingFinal Fantasytitles ever made. At first glance, many of the toughest enemies in the game seemlike standard JRPG foes, but the strategy required to beat the majority of them is unlike anything else in the series.

The Nutkin enemies, however, are adorable exceptions. Bartz can encounter these foes quite early inFinal Fantasy 5, but they are mostly found inside the Jachol Cave later in the story. There, alongside their more threatening counterparts, the Skull Eater and the Soul Eater, the Nutkins prove to be nothing more than innocent creatures who simply happen to keep poor company. They seem to be territorial creatures who only attack to protect their acorns, so animal lovers might want to avoid the Jachol Cave if they wish to see these cute critters prosper.
