Summary
Back in the late 2000s and early 2010s,Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke went on a bit of a cameo spree. Taking the form of an alternate skin or costume, Isaac Clarke appeared in fellow EA titles likeSkate 3,Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, andDante’s Inferno, along with some equally bizarre appearances in family-friendly games likeLittleBigPlanetandMySims Agents. But afterDead Space 3’s release in 2013,Isaac Clarke’s cameo spreecame to an abrupt end, and the franchise went on hiatus.
Last year,Dead Spaceexperienced a triumphant comeback with its Motive-developed remake, and Isaac Clarke was given permission to go on a comeback cameo tour, appearing in games likeFortnite. Despite the recent rumor that theDead Spacefranchise has been put on ice once again, Isaac Clarke is still showing up in other games, with the latest crossover being a timed event forBattlefield 2042. Though fans are divided on whether aDead Spacecrossover fitsBattlefield 2042’s tone, there’s one long-awaited crossover that would work better now than ever before.

Practically ever sinceDead by Daylightstarted adding crossovers all the way back in 2016, fans have wanted to seeDead Spacecome to the game in one way or another. Despite being very different experiences in terms of gameplay and narrative,Dead by DaylightandDead Spaceshare very similar tones. Both games revolve around sneaking past horrifying monsters capable of killing the player in just a few hits, both games have oppressively dark atmospheres, and both games aren’t afraid to show a bit of gore.
Some ofDead by Daylight’s more recent crossovers haven’t quite been the perfect fit, tonally speaking. For instance, theupcomingTomb RaiderxDead by Daylightcrossoverwill add Survivor trilogy Lara Croft to the multiplayer horror game. Though Lara Croft’s Perks look great, and her character model fits well with the otherDead by DaylightSurvivors, she marks a big departure for the game’s crossovers, with her being the first collab character to come from a non-horror IP. By comparison,Dead Spacefeels like an even more natural fit forDead by Daylightthan ever before.
For such a long-awaited crossover, aDead by DaylightxDead Spacecollaboration would need to go above and beyond to please fans. The only way to do that is by focusing an entire Chapter on the crossover. Taking inspiration fromDead by Daylight’s twoResident EvilChapters, aDead by DaylightxDead SpaceChapter could add one new Survivor, one new Killer, and one new map to the game, all themed around the Sci-Fi horror IP. The picks for all these categories are already pretty obvious, with Isaac Clarke being the clear choice for the Survivor, the Necromorph being the clear pick for the Killer, and the USG Ishimura being the perfect option for the map.
Like every other crossover before it, bothIsaac Clarke and the Necromorphwould come with a handful of new Perks, all of which would be themed around their appearances in the source material. Isaac Clarke’s Perks could revolve around the hero’s ability to craft new weapons and fix tech, while the Necromorph’s Perks could integrate the mutation’s penchant for dismemberment. Isaac should also come with a few extra skins that reference otherDead Spacecharacters like John Carver.
