The new trailer forSpin Me Roundkicks off with Amber (Brie) winning an all-expense paid trip to Italy for being a top manager at the Tuscan Grove restaurant. Shortly after she arrives in Italy, Amber meets the company’s CEO Nick Martucci (Nivola) and his assistant Kat (Plaza), who turn her world upside down. Thebreathtaking scenery of Florencebegins to take an interesting turn as Amber begins to experience a trend of strange occurrences, including Kat at her bedside, ordering her to get dressed. As Amber begins a romantic entanglement with Nick,Spin Me Round’s trailer suggests he might be hiding some dark secrets about his business and lifestyle.
Throughout the trailer, Amber is pulled deeper and deeper into Nick’s business circle, where she encounters a number of Nick’s friends and business associates. Each of themhave ambiguous things to say, as one calls himself “a repository for Nicky’s dirty secrets.” The whirlwind Italian trip continues to take a turn for the worst, as Dana (Woods) approaches Amber, warning her that he thinks something is amiss. Amber is seen threatening someone or something with a broken bottle and hiding under the bed while a hand drops over the side.
The most alarming piece ofSpin Me Round’strailer is Amber’s discovery of a book titledNews of a Kidnapping, which suggests the all-expense paid program could be a ruse for something more. When paired with the repetition of the phrase that Amber is “very open-minded,” what the top Tuscan Grove managers have been sent to Italy for becomes a question that may have a few sinister answers.Spin Me Round’s trailer also suggests that it’ll be difficult to know exactly who to trust, leaving room foraKnives Out-like twist.
There is a shroud of mystery that hangs over the trailer forSpin Me Roundand is sprinkled within its comedy. After noticing Nick is in his study late at night, Fran (Tom Heidecker) and Dana joke thatit’s like a game of Clue, and that he’s murdering Colonel Mustard with a lead pipe. While they laugh it off, the uncertainty of the trailer suggests that there could be more truth to their joke than they may want to let on.
