TheNeed for Speedfranchise will expand itself yet again withNeed for Speed Unbound. Street racing is not uncharted territory for the series, though it doesn’t mean that the upcoming game is short on new features. The special editions forNeed for Speed Unboundhave been revealed, and gamers can expect a Standard Edition, a Palace Edition, and a Creative Subversion Kit Edition sold only at select retailers.
Although the special editions are pricey, they come with some nice perks. Gamers who pre-order the Palace Edition or have an EA Play Pro membership will gain early access, allowing them to hit the streets of Lakeshore from November 29. With its glossy graphics, celebrity cameos, and booming soundtrack,Unboundcould be the coolest street racer of the year.

Many fans are hoping thatNeed for Speed Unboundwill be a triumphant return for the series. AlthoughNeed for Speed Heatwas well-received, it didn’t reach the hype level classicNeed for Speedgames likeNeed for Speed: Most WantedandUndergroundenjoyed. Thanks to its flashy graphics, shiny cars, and trendy music, the upcoming game could be exactly what the franchise needs. To draw gamers in, it also comes in three editions that pack some attractive perks.
The Standard Edition features the base game. Gamers whopre-orderNeed for Speed Unboundwill also receive an additional driving effect, license plate, banner artwork and stickers, as well as $150,000 of in-game currency for multiplayer use. The Palace Edition features the base game as well as four custom cars, new gassy driving effects, Mashman decals and license plate, an exclusive character pose and banner artwork, a special clothing pack containing 20 unique items, and all the pre-order bonus content.
Gamers can also pick up the Creative Subversion Kit which is only available at select retailers. What Can Gamers Expect From Need for Speed Unbound?
The upcoming game takesNeed for Speedback to its street racing era. Games will be able to unleash their imagination with car customization, and races will be made flashier with graffiti-like graphics that can be enabled during gameplay. There are also new game modes, including Takeover Scene which has players working together to seize control of different areas of Lakeshore by winning races. Speed isn’t the final decider, and races will also be judged on style. The game has achieved its cool aesthetic in part thanks to Criterion’s collaboration withASAP Rockyand his creative collective AWGE. The rapper also makes an appearance in-game, and his music is part of the game’s hip soundtrack. His signature vehicle is a highly customized Mercedes-Benz 190E, and players will get to race against him.
As the end of the year draws nearer, the number of big-budget AAA releases is increasing.Need For Speed Unboundarrives in early December, and until then gamers can keep themselves occupied withGod of War Ragnarokwhich launches on November 9, andPokemon Scarlet and Violetwhich launch on November 18. If Criterion can pull it off,Unboundmay be an amazing end to the gaming year.
