Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawon’t be the last audiences see of Jonathan Majors' Kang. That’s been known for a while, butQuantumaniaproducer Stephen Broussard revealed that Kang affects “every corner” of the MCU moving forward.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniais the first entry in the MCU in which Kang goes all-out. Whilea variant of Kang, He Who Remains, appeared inLoki, the character wasn’t seeking to destroy the Avengers. In that series, He Who Remains sought to prevent the multiverse from happening so that his other variants wouldn’t enter into a destructive war for control of time and reality.

In a new interview withDen of Geek, Broussard was coy about whether Kang would be seen in 2025’sFantastic Four.In the comics, Kang’s real name is Nathaniel Richards, and he’s a far-future descendant of Reed Richards. Broussard opted not to talk too much about that aspect of the character. “I don’t want to speak too specifically about what might or might not happen in that film [‘Fantastic Four’]. They obviously have an amazing rogues gallery, and the sky’s the limit with them,” Broussard said. “But Kang as a force, Kang as a plurality, feels very exciting to us, and I think there will be no corner of the MCU that won’t be affected by Jonathan and by Kang moving forward.”
Broussard also revealed that making Kang the villain ofQuantumaniawas an idea that was conceived whenAnt-Man 3’s trip to the Quantum Realmwas solidified as a major plot beat. According to Broussard, the executives and creatives at Marvel Studios view the Quantum Realm as a cosmic ‘basement.’ It’s possible for Kang, or at least a variant of him, to be trapped within it because it exists beneath the reality in which Marvel superheroes operate. Because it’s outside of time, Kang isn’t as powerful as he might be in the normal world, allowing fans to see a glimpse of him without revealing too much about his plans and abilities.
Broussard also praised Majors, reiterating thatMajors is perfect for all versions of Kang. Calling the idea “unique,” Broussard was proud that the MCU was one of the few places where an actor can play such radically different variants of the same person. Majors has delivered on this promise and more thus far. His portrayal of Kang inLokiandAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniais incredibly varied and has been praised by fans and critics alike.
Kang the Conqueror’s historywill likely be an important plot point in the MCU. This is why his connection with Reed Richards will likely be brought up at some point, especially sinceFantastic Fouris set to be the last film to be released beforeAvengers: The Kang Dynastybrings Kang front-and-center as an Avengers-level threat. Until that movie comes out, it’ll be impossible to know how Kang will affect that corner of the MCU.
