A few seasons ago, one Apex Legends developer commented thatMirage would likely never be a top-tier legendat the highest levels of play. That isn’t to say he isn’t in a good place inApex Legendstier list nowadays, but that he would never really hit the highest marks of the high-ranked meta. His kit is good, fun, and interesting, but he is more of a support character than an assault and limited in more ways than one.

Going invisible to get off revives was a good buff, adding health to his clones was a good buff, and his ultimate is good when used right. However, Mirage still isn’t as popular inApex Legendsas other legends like Seer, Wraith, and more. He often finds himself in the bottom pool of characters, but one fan idea could perhaps take that up a notch.

Shared by Redditor dropnation40, his concept for aMirage buffincludes him sending out decoys of other legends. His mock-up shows an item wheel, like those already found inApex Legends, but Mirage gets to pick from other legends to send out as his decoy. There’s even a marker with his decoy to signify which legend he deploys.

Given that anyone who has playedApex Legendsfor quite a while can typically and easily see through a Mirage clone, this could potentially add a lot morebamboozles to Mirage’s arsenal. Many commenters also shared their own ideas for refining this concept. For example, many believe it should be limited to the legends on Mirage’s team, which makes sense. Mirage can already create decoys of other legends while skydiving, and so it would make sense.

Some point toMirage’s loreabout how his egotistical nature makes these personal clones make sense (but, also, it should be noted his skill here came in bonding with his mother after his three brothers went missing). However, his egocentrism could be kept intact by keeping his Ult the same, although one person shared the horrifying idea of seeing multiple Caustics inKings Canyon’s Bunker.

While there are also questions of it suddenly making Mirage OP, it should be noted that his kit isn’t particularly suited to damage output anyway—unlike other kits. It’s about adding confusion to the battlefield, and seeing a standing or awkwardly moving Mirage almost never works. The only difference is that, by substituting other legends, this addition to his kit wouldn’t be so easily see-through. It is unlikelyApex Legendsimplements this since it is a fan creation, but it is an interesting concept nonetheless.

Apex Legendsis available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Mobile, PS5, and Xbox Series X versions are in the works.
