Season 11 ofApex Legendsis officially underway, and players are taking their first steps on thebrand-new Storm Point map. In addition to a map, players are also taking the “new” C.A.R. SMG for a spin and trying out the familiar Legend, Ash. As with every season, Season 11: Escape brought some balance changes that seek to shake up the meta and give players a reason to try other Legends that were falling behind.
Much like previous seasons, this tier list places Legends in tiers according to an number of factors: overall strength of abilities, what they bring to team composition, and how they fit into the meta with the rest of the characters inApex Legends. Once each Legend has been placed, the tiers are sorted alphabetically.

S-Tier
Ash- Ash, while a new face forApex Legendsplayers, is a familiar one toTitanfall 2veterans. This returning simulacrum features an ability kit that combines the concepts of several other Legends, making her a jack-of-all-trades, andplayers are already asking for a nerf. Ash’s passive, Marked for Death, indicates recent fights on her map, and marks any surviving attackers for her to track down. Her tactical, Arc Snare, tethers enemies who get to close and deals some damage to them as well. Her ultimate summons a short range portal, perfect for closing the distance on fleeing enemies. Her kit, especially when combined with a Legend like Bloodhound who can assist in tracking, makes Ash the perfect Legend to finish any fights.
Bloodhound-When it comes to tracking down prey, nobody is better than Bloodhound. Their tactical ability can scan wide areas, and their passive can mark tracks for Bloodhound and their team to follow. During Bloodhound’s ultimate, Beast of the Hunt, Bloodhound gains increased speed, and it becomes even easier for them to track down enemies. Beast of the Hunt is also extended when Bloodhound knocks or kills an enemy while it is active. Few characters, with the exception of Seer, can compete with Bloodhound when it comes to giving their team information - an invaluable asset.

Gibraltar- Gibraltar is a defensive powerhouse, and the only Legend who can tank a Kraber headshot thanks to his Gun Shield. He excels at locking down an area, especially out in the open, thanks to his Dome Shield tactical and Bombardment ultimate. Gibraltar will continue to live in S-Tier until the day he can not longer withstand the sheer power of the Kraber.
Revenant- No other Legend in the game can strategically push an enemy team with little repercussions like Revenant. His Death Totem has been a staple of theApex Legendsmeta for several seasons at this point, and it has little signs of slowing down. Combine this with his Silence ability that blocks enemy Legends' abilities for a time and he becomes a certified killing machinewith unparalleled climbing skills.

Seer- Even though Seer released in a broken state and was nerfed, he is still among one of the best Legends in the game. He excels at close-range scans and gathering area information, and his tactical ability can even disrupt enemy actions like healing. While Bloodhound excels at tracking enemies over long distances,Seer is nearly unmatchedwhen it comes to keeping information up on what is going on nearby thanks to his ultimate ability, which gives constant information to Seer and his team within a specific area.
A-Tier
Fuse- If players have a lot of fun with the many grenades inApex Legends, Fuse is an easily pick. Not only can Fuse throw grenades further than anyone else, he has his Knockle Duster that can deal short bursts of damage to enemies, and his Motherlode ultimate that creates a ring of fire to trap enemies. Fuse isgreat for area denial and burst damage, making him a solid Legend on the roster.
Lifeline- Lifeline isApex Legends' one and only true healer. Her D.O.C. Drone is great for topping up a team’s health without burning through healing items, while her ultimate can help players get upgrades for items that they have fallen behind with. While Lifeline no longer hasher powerful revive shield, she can still pick teammates up with her drone while keeping the enemy at bay. She is always a safe pick for any team, especially those who like to play on the aggressive side and need more healing.

Mirage- Mirage is a hard Legend to place because his kit depends on how easily a player can fool the enemy team. In the right hands, Mirage can give his team a lot of useful information, and even draw the fight away. Afterhis powerful rework, Mirage has incredible control over his decoys and can fool even seasonedApex Legendsplayers if they are not careful. When enemies shoot his decoys, Mirage’s team is alerted to the enemy’s position, which can be crucial while trying to pin down a team. With the ever-present issue of third parties attacking, stray gunshots from the enemy team could spell doom without Mirage’s team having to lift a finger. Mirage is all about mind games, and even in the middle of a fight, extra decoys could very save Mirage’s life.
Octane- Octane is the speed demon ofApex Legends, and one of the defining Legends in the meta aftera substantial buffhe received several seasons ago. Octane’s jump pad allows for teams to move quickly across large distances. He can also use his stim tactical to speed himself up to either engage an enemy or to simply travel faster when looting. “Revtane” has been the meta for quite some time inApex Legendsthanks to the powerful comtination of Revenant’s death totem and Octane’s jump pad, but ultimately Octane meshes well with many team comps when it comes to pushing for an attack.

Pathfinder- Pathfinder caused quite a few arguments betweenApex Legendsplayers and the development team. Players love Pathfinder’s mobility, while the team at Respawn believed it gave him too much of an advantage. Ultimately, Pathfinder’s grapple hook was nerfed, but now it rests in a stable spot that allows forfun and useful mobilitywhile limiting the amount of time a player can use it. His zipline remains unchanged, and on Storm Point it is a great tool for covering a lot of distance. Ultimately, Pathfinder is one of the best mobility Legends in the game, and in the right hands can be a huge hassle to fight.
Valkyrie- Valkyrie, whilenot as strong as she waswhen she launched in Season 9, is still an incredibly powerful and versitile Legend to have on any team, especially on the new Storm Point map. Valkyrie specializes in moving herself and her team across large distances by acting as a portable jump tower using her ultimate. Since Storm Point has no jump towers, only the Gravity Lifts, Valkyrie has become significantly more useful.
Wraith- Wraith has been the poster character forApex Legendssince the game launched for a number of reasons. The main being that many popular streamers gravitated toward her thanks to avery useful kit of abilities. She can disappear from the fight to avoid damage, her tactical warns her when she’s being aimed at, and her portal allows for her to safely move a team across long distances safely. She has always been a strong character on the roster, and even after a couple of nerfs her kit is still one of the best in the game.

B-Tier
Bangalore -Bangalore has been, and likely will always be,Apex Legends’staple “soldier” class. Her kit allows her to be well-roundedand useful in a number of different engagement scenarios. Her smoke grenades allow for smooth getaways or tactical confusion mid-fight, while her ultimate allows for a lot of crowd control over a wide area, allowing her to either rush in to attack or cover a retreat. While she is hard-countered by Bloodhound and Seer (or any Legend with Digital Threat sights), she is one of the better Legends to pick when learning the game.
Caustic -Caustic got his previouslypainful nerfsundone last season, which means he is viable again. He is one of the best Legends when it comes to locking down enclosed areas and even the final circle. His gas traps ramp up damage again, and his ultimate covers a considerable area if placed correctly. While he is a bit trickier to use in open-field engagements, players who have nailed down his trap and ultimate placement can make the final fight or indoor conflicts a nightmare to deal with.
Horizon- Horizon got hit hard with the nerf hammer thanks to her being overtuned when she first launched. However,Season 10 saw Horizon’s nerfs get walked back a little, allowing her to be a bit more viable in the current meta. With Storm Point in the map rotation now, any abilities that can help players move quickly across an area are a big bonus. Her Black Hole ultimate is still a great tool for crowd control, and can be devistating with a coordinated team.
Loba- Loba’s journey through the tier lists has been a wild one. For the longest time, Loba’s abiltiies were lackluster and sometimes broken. Thankfully,Loba’s tactical finally worksand her ultimate, while still a huge beacon alerting enemy teams, is a helpful asset when quickly looting (or stealing loot from a nearby team fight). Loba excels at tracking down good loot, and in that regard nobody is better. Her downside is that she does not have a ton of utility mid-fight, but hopefully the gear she can aquire is enough to give her an edge.
Rampart- Rampart has slowly climbed the tier list since her lackluster launch. In a game where 90 percent of the Legends are overtuned at launch, Rampart was one that fell flat. Between hereasily-breakable Amp Wallsand her restricted Minigun ultimate, it was hard to recommend Rampart in a game where the meta is about moving fast. Rampart has had some tweaks, and recently Respawn made it so her Minigun can be carried and used as a mobile weapon before being placed as a stationary turret. While it’s not enough of a change to rocket her up the tier list, it’s enough to bring her up a tier.
Wattson- Season 11 is whenWattson finally received a much-needed buff. Wattson’s fences got a buff to damage, debuff duration, and cooldown. This allows Wattson to quickly and more reliably set up her traps when she wants to lock down an area. In addition to this, her Interceptor Pylon got reworked. Now there can be only one active, but it lasts until destroyed or another is placed. It also recharges shields more reliably, but has a limited pool of shields it can regarge. Lastly, the Pylon should now more reliably destroy things that are going to impact inside of the range of the Pylon, rather than any item that is created inside the radius - meaning that player grenades should be throwable from within the Pylon’s range so long as the impact point is outside.
C-Tier
Crypto- Rounding out the bottom is Crypto,Apex Legends' resident drone specialist. Crypto’s drone is incredibly useful, as it can pick up a teammate’s banner and revive them, scan survey beacons, and even use an EMP to deal shield damage to enemies before a team fight. However, Crypto’s kit encourages a level of passivity that does not mesh well into the current meta ofApex Legends. Even defensive Legends like Caustic and Wattson can use their abilities mid-fight to great success, but for Crypto to be effective with his abilities, he has to sacrifice fighting for himself. Smart drone positioning can help give great intel, but the drone (when parked) is easily spotted and destroyed. With therise in characters who can give tactical information, it is getting harder to recommend Crypto over other Legends.
D-Tier
Thankfully no Legends are in a bad enough spot this season to warrant being at the D-tier. All Legends have certain situations that would make them solid picks, though there are still some that shine brighter than others.
While some Legends shifted slightly, many remained unchaged this season. The biggest factor, in addition to Wattson’s buff and Ash’s introduction, wasthe new map. It remains to be seen if Ash will receive a nerf in the near future - she is not nearly as broken as Seer and Valkyrie were, but many players still thing she is too strong. For the time being, players will simply need to adapt to the new Ash-filled meta.
Apex Legendsis available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
