The possibility ofBattleBit Remasteredbeing ported to consoles isn’t off the table, according to the incredibly popular online multiplayer PC game’s developers. Still, console players who have enjoyed seeingBattleBit Remasteredbe played onPCthrough Twitch and are hoping the game will come to PlayStation or Xbox soon should keep their expectations in check. WhileBattleBit Remasteredbeing brought to console is possible, it’s not something that the developers believe will happen for a long time.

BattleBit Remasteredwas released in early access on PC on July 28, 2025, and became an overnight success. The game climbed to an initial concurrent player count of over 60,000, hit nearly 90,000 within a week, and has remained surprisingly consistent since. A peak of over 60,000 concurrent players is reached daily. It also remains one of Steam’s top-selling games.BattleBit Remasteredis a back-to-basics version of classicBattlefieldgames with 254-player matches andMinecraft-esque visuals. And it seems to be exactly what PC gamers want.

WithBattleBit Remasterednow a month into release, a developer named TheLiquidHorse decided to hold an AMA and shared answers regarding the game’s future. One of those questions was whetherBattleBit Remasteredwould be ported to consoles. The response said that, right now, there are no plans to portBattleBit Remasteredto consoles. The reason why is that the team doesn’t believe it can currently “deliver the same experience” ofBattleBit Remasteredon PC.

That doesn’t mean thatBattleBit Remasteredwill never be ported to PlayStation or Xbox, however. A follow-up question asks ifBattleBit Remasteredwill ever be released on consoles. The developer responds that it is absolutely possible. It just will take “a while still.” The implication is that the developers are still 100% focused on bringingBattleBit Remasteredto its full launch on PC. A console port will have to wait until afterward.

Most of the AMA is otherwise dedicated to talking about upcoming new content or changes. There are some interesting questions regardingBattleBit Remastered’s success. The developer says that most of the money being made will be put back into future development. As for whyBattleBit Remasteredis such an astonishing success, the developers aren’t entirely sure why that is. They note that it might be because they don’t take themselves too seriously, but also that they have a lot more freedom than something like theBattlefieldfranchise.

The next big test forBattleBit Remasteredstarts now. Getting an audience in the first place is the hardest part, but keeping an audience for months if not years isn’t guaranteed.BringingBattleBit Remasteredto consoleswould be one way to grow the game’s audience. As it stands, however, console fans will just have to keep watching on Twitch and revisit the possibility of aBattleBit Remasteredport in a year or few.
