Along with Arataki Itto, Gorou has been released inGenshin Impact2.3. This unit is designed to be Itto’s support, so his kit revolves around defense and Geo buff. Previously, players may have met Gorou while doing the Archon Quest. He is the general of the Watatsumi Resistance and the right hand of Sangonomiya Kokomi.

Travelers should notmix Gorou up with Ms. Hinaand give him a chance to shine. Maybe then, the puppy-eared character can be loved as much as her.
Gorou’s Talent Overview in Genshin Impact
Just like any typical support, players won’t use Gorou’s Normal attacks, so they can ignore it when leveling up his talent. Instead, they will want to focus on his Elemental Skill that provides buffs according to the number of Geo characters in the party.
However, it’s important to note that this buff is only applied to the active character, sooff-field units will not benefit from it.
As for his Elemental Burst, it has the same effect as the Elemental Skill. But instead of making a limited AOE, the Burst will follow the active character. Moreover, it can deal AOE Geo damage every 1.5 seconds.
When upgrading Gorou’s talent, players should focus on his Skill instead of the Burst. Simply because his Burst scales with the Elemental Skill’s talent level.
Can C4 Gorou Be A Good Healer In Genshin Impact?
On the General’s fourth Constellation, when his Burst is active, Gorou will heal by 50% of his defense every 1.5 seconds. If Gorou is equipped with the normal build, this effect is really negligible.

Sadly, even if players focused on DEF% and Healing Bonus%, his healing is still too low to be effectively utilized. So in conclusion,Gorou should not be built as a healer.

Gorou is a poor battery inGenshin Impact. His Elemental Burst needs 80 energy to be activated, so he can’t feed it on his own.
Since most players will likely pair him with Itto, Gorou will not fully enjoy the generated Elemental Particles. This is because, when a character produces Elemental Particles, players should switch to Itto so that he gains more energy than the off-field characters. The non-active units will only get 60% of the generated energy.
So,even with batteries like Ningguangor Albedo, players will still want to have Energy Recharge% on Gorou.It’s best to aim for at least 180% Energy Recharge. Therefore, if Travelers can’t get this number with a DEF% Timepiece, they should switch to Energy Recharge%.
Best Weapon For Gorou In Genshin Impact
Damage-wise,Skyward Harpiseasily the best Bow for Gorou. However, since he badly needs Energy Recharge,Favonius WarbowandElegy for the Endcan greatly help balance his stats. Favonius Warbow will also assist the team in regaining energy.

Best Teammates For Gorou In Genshin Impact
SinceGorou provides defense and Geo buffs, it’s obvious that he’s meant to support defensive Geo characters. People can pair him with eitherArataki IttoorDPS Noelle. Other than that, players should also have a Geo battery in the team. They can opt for eitherAlbedo,Ningguang, orGeo Traveler.
For the last slot, bring a character that can apply Hydro, Pyro, Electro, or Cryo. This way, Gorou can easily benefit from the Crystallized reactions. Players can use units likeXingqiu,Raiden Shogun, andSangonomiya Kokomi, among many others.
