Updated May 14, 2025 by Oluwatokiloba Folami:In every world, information is a vital thing, and the ability to effectively convey information from one place to another remains one of the mundane but highly sought-after things. As mobile phones do not exist in Demon Slayer, a new form of communication among demon slayers has been established—Kasugai crows. These crows can cover vast distances and are trusted to deliver information effectively.
Whether it be a message from higher-ups, the death of a Hashira, or the situation of a demon slayer, Kasugai crows are trusted to the job and hardly fail. As animals, they each come with various traits and personalities, and some remain more memorable than others in the Demon Slayer series.

11Kagaya Ubuyashiki Unnamed’s Crow
A Distinct Crow Through Its Manner Of Speech And Intelligence
The crow that invited Tamayowas undoubtedly characterized by its manner and rate of speech among all the Kasugai crows shown in the series. As a crow sent by Kagaya Ubuyashiki, this crow, while unnamed, had a deep voice and spoke to Tamayo very intelligently, inviting her, a demon, to the Demon Slayer Headquarters to help research Nezuko’s conquering of the sun and away to stop Kibutsuji Muzan.
While it is unclear if the crow was Kagaya Ubuyashiki’sprimary Kasugai crow or simply one of many under his command, it portrayed much more intelligence than many other crows in the series by locating Tamayo.

10Inosuke’s Crow
Scared Of Its Demon Slayer, But Intelligent
Despite being the beast man he portrays himself to be, like all other demon slayers, Inosuke Hashibira has a Kasugai crow assigned to him. However, unsurprisingly, Inosuke has tried to eat his crow multiple times, and it’s now afraid to converse with him. Inosuke trying to forcefully eat his crow is certainly comical and also shows justwho Inosuke isas a character.
Despite being scared of its assigned demon slayer, Inosuke’s crow is known to be highly intelligent but doesn’t have as many appearances as some of the other demon slayer crows portrayed in the series.

9Rengoku’s Crow
A Crow That Honors Its Master’s Legacy
Many fans of theDemon Slayerseries undoubtedly see Rengoku as one of thebest Hashiras of the series. His undying resolve, as shown during his battle with Akaza, left a mark in the hearts of many. Unfortunately, despite his strength, Rengoku fell to Akaza. However, Rengoku’s Kasugai crow, Kaname, showed Tanjiro the route to Rengoku’s house after his passing.
In this way, Tanjiro was able to meet Rengoku’s father and brother and pass on the news of Rengoku’s demise. As a crow that fulfills its master’s wishes even after his death, Kaname shows his loyalty to Rengoku and its ability to act independently.

8Giyu’s Crow
The Elderly Kasugai Crow With A Forgetful Nature
Giyu Tomioka is unlike the other Hashiras, as he rarely speaks and hardly portrays emotions of any sort. With his personality, one might imagine his personal Kasugai crow to be stoic but skilled. However, that isn’t the case. Kanzaburo, Giyu’s Kasugai crow, is in fact, elderly, and with its old age comes a forgetful habit.
Due to its age and forgetful tendencies, Kanzaburo sometimes forgets to deliver messages, which could affect a whole lot of things as information is a very vital resource in theDemon Slayerseries. Interestingly, rather than outrightly replacing the crow, Giyu worries about it, showing his kind nature and that he cares for it.

7Zenitsu’s Sparrow
Different But Efficient
As a Kasugai crow working with the Demon Slayer Corps, Ukogi (nicknamed Chuntaro), Zenitsu’s “crow” stands out primarily because it is a sparrow. As its family was killed by demons, the sparrow presumably took all that grief and joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Chuntaro appeared in the first season of the anime after passing the Kasugai Crow Test and has stayed faithful toZenitsuever since.
Chuntaro the sparrow is the only Kasugai ‘crow’ in the series that cannot speak, unlike many other crows. While some crows can speak in both parts and full sentences, Chuntaro does not and still performs its responsibilities.

6Mitsuri’s Crow
Diligent And Has A Bow To Top It Off
Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira, is a happy and affectionate young woman with long pink hair, a one-of-a-kind butterfly-shaped hairpin, and extraordinary combat abilities. Despite her gentle demeanor, she is one of the series' most powerful Demon Slayers. Mitsuru’s crow cannot be overstated because Kasugai crows directly or indirectly contribute to the strength of their Demon Slayer.
Despite showing nervousness, Urara is an irreplaceable asset to Mitsuru. Urara also wears a crown resembling a clover, similar to the tsuba of Mitsuri’s Nichirin Sword, and often has tea time with Mitsuru. Furthermore, she (Urara) is rumored to have a sweet tooth due to the frequent tea time she has with Mitsuru.

5Tengen’s Crow
Not A Stranger To Fashion
Tengen Uzui stood outamong the Hashira because of his distinct attitude and sense of fashion, and his crow took after him. While Tengen debuted in the 21st episode of the anime, his crow was introduced in the Entertainment District arc of the anime and manga series.
Tengen’s crow Nijimaru followed in his footsteps since it wears jewelry to beautify itself. Tengen’s crow, with its beauty and brains, was essential to his team’s communication. One thing is certain tho, of all the kasugai crows, Nijimaru is clearly the most fashionable.

4Muichiro’s Crow
Caring Accompanied By Lashes Of Cuteness
Muichiro Tokito is a skilled Demon Slayer witha tragic backstory. Muichiro trained so hard, using his terrible background as fuel, that he became a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps at an early age. While he may not be proud of his accomplishments, his crow Ginko, who initially appears in the second episode of the third season, is a different story.
Muichiro’s crow Ginko is ecstatic about her master. With her flashy eyelashes, she behaves condescendingly toward Tanjiro and does not get along with him, his crow, and other crows. Ginko is immensely proud of Muichiro and does not let the other Demon Slayers belittle him.

3Tanjiro’s Crow
Mirrors The Diligence Of The Protagonist
Kamado Tanjiro, the protagonist of theDemon Slayeranime series, is unique. His capacity to see the ‘threads of fate’distinguishes him from the other Demon Slayers. Matsuemon’s Kasugai crow, like Tanjiro, distinguishes itself from other crows by naming itself. This is unusual among other crows because their names are given to them by current Oyakata-sama and their appointed masters.
Matsuemon has demonstrated exceptional intelligence throughout the series. It was irritated with Zenitsu after meeting him, believing Zenitsu should not chase girls and instead make them chase him as he does.
2Gyomei’s Crow
Capable Of Being Number One’s Eyes
The Demon Slayers storm into the infinity castle to combat the demons in theDemon Slayerseries’ infinity castle arc. This is the point at which the Demon Slayers took the initiative to defeat Muzan. One Kasugai crow stood out above all the commotion that erupted between the demons and the Demon Slayers.
Gyomei Himejima’s crow, Zekka, relayed the continuously shifting battle situation to his master, demonstrating that he could keep up with the battle(s) at hand to a point. Doing so in the Infinity Castle (Muzan’s territory) shows Zekka’s dedication to his master and defeating the demons. And for that, he stands out among his peers.
