Summary
Abigailis a movie that features an easy plot for viewers to follow. A man named Lambert hires a crew of professionals to kidnap a little girl named Abigail. Their goal is to exchange her for money, and all they need to do is guard her for twenty-four hours until Lambert can make a deal. However, Joey and the rest of the crew are in for a big surprise regarding what Abigail is capable of.
One of the big reasons people turn up to horror movies in theaters is for the kills. Sadly, the cast ofAbigailis relatively small, so there are not a ton of deaths for viewers to witness. That said, the deaths that do happen are pretty fun fora horror movie, capable of leaving audience members laughing and wincing depending on the scenario.

6Rickles
Taking A Bite Out Of Crime
Rickles is revealed to have a background as a soldier, possibly a Marine, which Joey susses out as she wasa military medic. He seems like the one poised to survive this entrapment the longest because he is a soldier, and he has a solid skill with a sniper rifle, too. However, he is the second one to die in the mansion.
After it’s made clear that someone else is in the mansion, Joey and Rickles make a pack to watch each other’s backs. Once they split up, Abigail attacks him from offscreen and tears out a portion of Rickles’ neck and face. Joey hears a gurgling, sees Rickles stand up awkwardly, and then she approaches to discover the grim fate of her colleague. Any kind of offscreen death ina horror movieis a bummer, especially when the character is seemingly a non-problematic one.

5Dean
Losing His Head
Dean is the first character to fall to the fates. He’s minding his own business, doing wacky hijinks in the mansion when he hears a noise in the kitchen pantry. He investigates and finds nothing, but when he turns his back, something grabs him from behind. After making a racket, Sammy goes to investigate the kitchen, too.
It’s here that she finds Dean sitting at the table with his back to her. Upon tapping him on the shoulder, his head falls off, which serves as a great reveal. This then has the team gather for a meeting wherein they discuss the possibility of there being a wild creature in the mansionlike a vampire.

4Lambert
What Did You Think Was Going To Happen?
Lambert is the one who gathered the team together under the guise that they were kidnapping Abigail for a big payout. The twist is that Lambert planned the whole thing with Abigail because he’s also a vampire. They do gatherings like this often enough to help Abigail feed out of sight from the city. It’s an even bigger twist that Lambert was in the basement watching everyone the whole time.
After it’s just Joey and Frank left, Lambert reveals himself to make a deal with Frank. He wants to make Frank a vampire so that they can kill Abigail together and then take over the family business. Frank accepts the deal but then immediately betrays Lambert with a stake to the heart, followed by Lambert’s bloody explosion. It’s not the first time a character played by the actor Giancarlo Esposito has exploded graphically, andBreaking Badfanswill likely enjoy how he meets his end here.

3Peter
A Heartfelt Giant Falls
Peter’s death is close to how Rickles dies earlier in the film. However, the sequence is a lot better because it starts off with Sammy and Peter alone in a darkened corridor. They bond with each other to help protect one another like Joey and Rickles, which is a sweet moment for a character like Peter.
Unfortunately for Peter, Sammy becomes entranced by Abigail and turns into a vampire, too. It’s kind of like anAvatarsituation except with a lot more throat ripping and blood. James Cameron could take note from this movie and add more blood tohisAvatarfilms.

2Sammy
Goodbye, Lisa Frankenstein
After slaying Peter, Sammy lures Joey and Frank to check out Peter’s body. Sammy then tries attacking, leading the party back into the sunroom. Because Abigail is controlling her body, she gets a little reckless with Sammy and has her charge in even though there is sunlight. With a quick reflection off of a silver tray, the sunlight explodes Sammy in an incredible fashion.
It’s the first in the movie besides Abigail getting her hand exploded earlier due to sunlight. It’s unfortunate for Sammy, but it is still cool from a visual standpoint. This is the second 2024 film in which a character played by Kathryn Newton tragically dies, withLisa Frankensteinoffering the first example. Having played a vampire and aBride of Frankenstein-type character, fans can only imagine what the actor’s next outing will be. If she pursues more films of this genre, she could even become a mummy, a swamp creature,or a werewolf.

1Frank
Once A Villain, Always A Villain
Frank is set up from the beginning to be an evil character. So, it’s not surprising when he kills Lambert, and it’s also not surprising what he does after. He wants to kill Abigail and Joey, leading to an incredible fight between the three of them.
Joey, for example, gets stabbed by a steel rod and stuck to a wall. In the end, the two eventually overpower Frank with yet another bloody explosion. It’s the most satisfying of the bunch since Frank deserves it, although it can feel a bit weird to be cheering for Abigail since the others were more or less innocent.
