Borderlands 4is likely years away, as Gearbox is currently hard at work onTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. However, when it does come, fans can expect a lot of the things that they have come to love from the series. Humorous characters, an evolution of the cel shaded art style that has helped the series establish itself, and a focus on looting a variety of guns can all be expect from the nextBorderlandsgame.
Alongside all these things, players will surely be getting access to a new batch of playable Vault Hunters. While a new Siren can be expected, as well asa fresh Siren power, the other slots are a mystery. A new Soldier could join the hunt for Lilith, as could a robot like FL4K or Zer0. However, it would be a nice surprise to see none other than Tiny Tina becoming playable.

Why Tina’s Moveset Has Serious Potential
One great advantage of Tina becoming playable is her potential moveset. Much like Moze, some of her basic skills could see her dealing more damage with explosive weapons. As a demolition expert, working her love for bombs into her action skill would be a must. The Badonkadonk Bunnies fromBorderlands 2have not only featured in somegreat Tiny Tina cosplays, but they could make for an excellent action skill as well.
Like inBorderlands 2, these massive explosives could see one of Tina’s cute plush bunnies covered in dynamite. She could then throw the explosive, with various upgrades for the skill allowing it to function differently. One upgrade could see the bomb splitting into several smaller Badonkadonks, with the bunnies possibly chasing foes down like the Glove of Doom robots inRatchet and Clank. Another variant of the skill could see it working like theMonkey Bomb fromCall of DutyZombies, attracting all the enemies in the area before exploding for massive damage. With elemental effects, a larger blast radius, and quicker cooldowns all possible, an advanced bomb would be a perfect option for Tina’s main skill.

Giving Tina An Integral Role In The Main Story
One of the mainBorderlands 3misstepsthatTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis guaranteed to avoid is Tina’s small role. As such,Borderlands 4should also make sure not to shove Tina into the background, as she deserves to have an integral role in the main story. Making Tina playable would instantly accomplish that.Borderlands 3lets its Vault Hunters speak often, having proper conversations with the NPCs in the game. As such, Tina would be able to talk during important moments and side quests alike, giving the talented Ashly Burch the chance to improve every moment inBorderlands 4.
From a story perspective, Tina being playable makes sense as well.Borderlands 3’s Director’s Cut missionsmake it very clear that Lilith is not dead, a question that many fans had after the main story came to a close. Based on Ava’s statement about the Vault Hunters heading out to find the Firehawk, it can be assumed that the plot ofBorderlands 4will hinge on tracking down the leader of the Crimson Raiders. While it is unclear where Lilith went or why, fans can expect her close friends to take part in the mission. None are closer to Lilith than the B Team, with Brick, Mordecai, and Tina undoubtedly wanting to find their friend. Tina wanting to be as hands on as possible makes sense, too, which would justify her becoming playable.
WhileTiny Tina’s Wonderlandslikely won’t featurea playable Tiny Tina,Borderlands 4easily could. For starters, Tina is no longer tiny by the time ofBorderlands 3, and by extension,Borderlands 4. As such, there would be no concerns about seeing a young girl getting shot at, as Tina is now a grown woman. On top of this, she will not be narrating and shaping the entire story like she will seemingly be doing inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. This frees her up to be playable, as she is not required to be a dungeon master in the canon events ofBorderlands 4. With clear gameplay potential and a story setup that makes her involvement essential, Tina becoming a playable Vault Hunter could be a great direction to takeBorderlands 4.
