Thankfully, learning how to use the must-tries can help players get better acquainted with the game’s more intense mechanics. Such Legends include a Spear and Bow specialist that helps emphasize precise aiming, a fighting game-inspired Gauntlet and Orb user, a well-balanced Axe and Spear melee fighter, and a bulky undead king who uses an Axe and a Bow, all of which have been added to this list in its latest update.

Speed
Amongbeginner-friendly Legends,Kayaand her kit make her a decent point of transition towards more technical intermediate plays. Kaya’s gameplay in this arena brawler is all about controlling space with her Ivory Snare (Bow) and Prey Catcher (Spear). As a Bow user, Kaya can use her DLight and NLight to counter enemies both on the ground and in the air, respectively. Players who eventually learn an enemy’s moves in the air can find ways of juggling them easily. On the ground, Kaya can also switch to the Spear for extra versatility, with DLight useful for creating space, NAir for aerial poking, and NLight to close the gap on opponents.
When using the Bow, Kaya can begin combos with a swift slide-into-kick-and-upward shot (SSig), an edge-guard with a downward-into-sideways shot (DSig), and a more generic slide-into-upward shot (NSig). Meanwhile, her Spear has a poke-with-backwards throw (SSig), a front-spin-with-horizontal poke (DSig), and an up-kick-with-upward-slash (NSig). Included in her kit, her Bow SSig reliably reinforces her ground domination, while her Spear SSig has an awkward hit box that, when mastered, can catch enemies by surprise.

The mastery of the Darkheart allowedPetrato become a force to be reckoned with in the gameplay ofthis multiplayer brawler, with her Knockouts (Gauntlets) and Stone of Malice (Orb) giving her decent area coverage. Petra’s attacks can get her into position quickly, allowing her to punish opponents into combos as soon as they make a mistake. The aerial capabilities of both her Guantlets and Orb can launch opponents in the air quickly, forcing them to constantly focus on getting back on the stage.
Players who want a more traditional brawler setup can use Petra for herDragon Ballability-inspired kit. Her Orb alone allows her to unleash a chargeable kamehameha (SSig), leap in the air for a chargeable spirit orb (DSig), or a diagonal multi-blast attack (NSig). Alternatively, her Gauntlets give her a multi-hit kaioken (SSig), a teleport attack to get behind opponents (DSig), and a shoryuken (NSig). All in all, Petra’s kit encourages more aggressive play, as the chargeable nature of her attacks give players openings by being flexible with their timing.

While technically half-human and half-Valkyrie,Brynndons Glory (Axe) and Valor (Spear) in herBrawlhallagameplaythat emphasizes a balance between fast-paced Spear pokes and heavy-hitting Axe swings. The aggressive nature of the Spear and the Axe can give Brynn players a lot of openings to stunlock enemies into oblivion, while they can use SAir to deal with opponents in the air.
Brynn’s all-around stats are reflected in her flexible ground-based kit. When wielding her Spear, she can fly with a vertical upward (NSig) or horizontal (SSig) push - both perfect for combos. Meanwhile, she can also unleash a high-powered whirlwind (DSig). When using her Axe, she can capitalize on a heavy upward slash (NSig), a forward twirl that launches opponents forward (SSig), and a jump-with-forward swing (DSig) for edgeguarding.
The death of KingAzothcame with a harsh afterlife of being constantly summoned as a Lichlord to help his acolytes restore his ancient empire, which even he had forgotten about. Armed with his Forgotten Bow (Bow) and Ancient Axe (Axe), Lord Azoth can contend with mobile foes while boasting decent defense and a straightforward, powerful kitin hisBrawlhallagameplay.
Azoth’s sluggish nature is supported by his more adaptable kit. With his Axe, he can use an upward swing to punish nearby foes on the ground and in the air (NSig), rush in a direction and end with an attack (SSig), as well as unleash columns of energy that drag enemies towards him for an attack (DSig). When using his Bow, Azoth can punish aerial returns with an upward shot (SSig), a double attack with a delay (NSig), and a backward shot (DSig) to get out of the way of aggressive foes.

Essentially the sole survivor of the Strazci army of spectral knights,Magyarcarries upon him the Menace Maul (Grapple Hammer) and Soul Scourge (Greatsword) that represent the souls of the other Strazci knights that empower him. Newcomers who want to get over their fear of button-mashing in the face of quick opponents should capitalize on Magyar and his high defense. While possessingslow movement that opponents can abuse, the knight proves he has no use for fast attacks when a surefire hit from his weapons should do the job.
Such a preference for decisive strikes is present throughout Magyar’s kit in the arena brawler. Magyar boasts an anti-air ground hammer smash or vertical slice (NSig). Users who master Magyar can use more efficient combo strings with his riskier moves, such as a slow but empowered hammer strike or horizontal slash (SSig) and generic downward hammer smash and sword slices (DSig).
Despite his skill,Jaeyunhas a very bad gambling addiction to the point that he has a tendency to not count how much money he has before spending it away. However, Jaeyun’s proficiency in both the Sword and Greatsword is known throughout Valhalla, with his straightforward toolkit becoming one of the bestBrawlhallahas to offer to arena fighter newcomers.
As a fighter, Jaeyun canhelp newcomers get into the enemy’s zone quicklywith his fast-paced Sword or go for tactical plays with the slow but heavy-hitting Greatsword. Jaeyun’s notable moves include a downward-to-horizontal Greatsword slash (DSig), a multi-directional slash whirlwind (Sword NSig), and multiple anti-neutral options (Sword SSig, DSig).
Despite the regal appearance ofScarlet, this cultured gal comes equipped withthe full might of a steampunkGrapple Hammer and Rocket Lance. In turn, many of her moves emphasize potent strikes and smashes that will try to hit everything if they can’t reach an opponent.
Scarlet’s freedom of movement is where she shines as a beginner Legend in the arena brawler. At its core, her Hammer can facilitate upward swings (NSig), a horizontal arc-smash (SSig), or a downward arc-to-spin attack (DSig). When lacking distance, Scarlet can opt to cover range with the Rocket Lance via a curved upwards charge (NSig), a forward charge (SSig), or a long-ranged stationary attack (DSig).

Ulgrimof the forge is arguably one of the best smithsof Asgard, and he brings the same battle prowess in combat. Armed with an Axe and a Rocket Lance, Ulgrim relies on potent yet quick attacks to ensure he hits hard at all costs.
Attacks-wise, Ulgrim boasts a lot of multi-directional versatility. With his Axe, he can perform a stun-to-downward smash (NSig), a gap-closing chop (SSig), or a multi-side sweep (DSig). Meanwhile, his Rocket Lance boasts a more aggressive kit with an uppercut (NSig), a thrust with a slight forward boost (SSig), and a stationary chainsaw attack that deals damage the longer it stays out (DSig).
Living up to his status as a labyrinthian guardian,Teroshas a remarkable hatred of adventurers. And he won’t hesitate to show his sheer anger towards visitors - and his love for combat - with his Grapple Hammer and Axe. His dual heavy-hitting weapons of choice give Teros a tanking specialization.
Despite his sheer strength, Teros’s kit gives him some much-needed movement options. With his Axe, Teros can perform a downward sweep-chop that carries him forward (NSig) and a forward-charging pair of chops (SSig). Likewise, his Hammer specializes in repositioning enemies with a backward hurl (NSig) and a bounceback charge (SSig). Both his Axe and Hammer DSigs hit enemies in front and at the back.
Perhaps the game’s version of a knight in shining armor, no one knows the true identity ofOrionbehind the mask. All Legends know is that he uses his Rocket Lance and Spear in such a way that no one can determine his identity through his fighting style. In the case of gameplay, Orion boasts one of the most balanced kits that makes him ideal for newcomers to train with.
Orion’s jetpack forms a crucial part of his kit, with most of his Sigs offering extra movements to make him harder to predict. Except for stationary Rocket Lance blasts (NSig) and Spear spins (DSig), Orion incorporates jetpack movements for most of his attacks. With his Rocket Lance, he can boost himself forward great distances with an arc attack (SSig) or jump backward for a laser strike (DSig). Meanwhile, his Spear can facilitate a forward charge (SSig) or a short-leaping down stab (NSig).
