Bugsnaxis a game defined by its cast. The player will spend most of the game gatheringBugsnax’s colorful grumpusesto the dilapidated town of Snaxburg, and learning about their backstories through interviews and sidequests.
One of the earlier grumpuses the player meets is Beffica Winklesnoot,Bugsnax’sresident valley girl, rumor monger, and paparazzi. The quest to get her back home doubles as a tutorial forBugsnax’s camera and scanner, asking players to scan six Bugsnaks in Garden Grove.

After that, she asks the player to use their journalistic know-how to find her favorite Bugsnak and feed it to her. At first glance, this is a tough question; she’s never said a word about it. The clues, however, are lying right in the open.
Finding Beffica’s Favorite Bugsnak
Bugsnaxis a game that asks the player to keep a close eye on their surroundings: not just the behavior of the individual Bugsnax and grumpuses, but the landscape they inhabit.
The vital clue can be found in Beffica’s cave. Aside from her sadly unreadable diary, her sleeping bag, and an abandoned game of solitaire, players can find her wall covered in doodles.
The largest doodle is a hot dog with hearts surrounding it. Since the player recently scanned the area, they should recognize what this drawing represents:Beffica’s favorite Bugsnak is the Weenyworm.
Catching the Weenyworm
The Weenyworm is one of the easier Bugsnax to catch. It doesn’t involve any complicated setups,unlike the poptick and other later Bugsnax– they just need the Snak Trap.
Players can find the Weenyworm circling one of the pens at Wambus' abandoned farm.Like the Strabby, the Weenyworm will run away if the player gets too close. Also, like the Strabby, the player can just place the Snak Trap on the Weenyworm’s path and set the trap off from afar.
If the player wants to speed up the process, instead of waiting for the Weenyworm to inch its way to the trap, they canuse the sauce slinger to cover the trap in ketchup.
Weenyworms like ketchup, and while they won’t charge it like the Bunger, it’ll rush over to whatever has been coated with it.
Once the player has caught the Weenyworm, they can run over to Beffica, feed it to her, and she’ll head into town. From there, the player can give her an interview and, shortly after, go into her first sidequest.
