Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remasteredhas been heavily rumored over the past few months, and now another leaker has claimed that it is on the way. In fact, gamers should prepare to relive the game’s version of World War 3 later this year, asCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Campaign Remasteredis reportedly eyeing up a 2021 release.
Previously leaks have come from @ModernWarzone, with the insider confirming that the project is in the works back in November of last year. @ModernWarzone doubled down on these leaks, too, stating thatCall of Duty: Warzone’s Soap skinwould be added via a bundle attached to every purchase ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This detail was revealed back in March, and while there has been silence in the weeks since, a new leak has come about that confirms a few more details about the remaster.

The latest leak comes from @TheMW2Ghost, another well-known source when it comes toCall of Dutyinsiders. According to @TheMW2Ghost,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remasteredis “definitely” coming in 2021. With players’ hopes for a 2021release ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Remasteredcrushed, this updated version of the third game’s campaign could help soften the blow. As for a specific window for its release, @TheMW2Ghost highlights that the original plan was for Q2 — which covers the months of March, April, and May.
The leaker clarifies that they are unsure if this is still the plan, as the game would need to be revealed and released before the start of June. While this is certainly possible, as the remaster ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaignreceived a trailer on the day of its release, the leaker does seem to warn fans that the game could have been pushed back. The leaker is certain that the game will come this year, at least, giving fans that enjoyed the trilogy’s finale a reason to be excited.
The final point worth noting from @TheMW2Ghost’s post is that the game will feature a full month of PlayStation exclusivity. Once again, this follows the exact same setup asCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, with that game also being exclusive to the PlayStation platform for an entire month. Unlike the secondModern Warfare’s campaign, though, it is unclear ifa PlayStation Plus releaseis in the cards forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered.
While fans should take these leaks with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made, they do seem believable given how much they mirror the release of the previous campaign remaster. Further, withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remasteredproving successfulfinancially, Activision wanting to keep this trend alive makes sense.
