After teasing new content likefan-favoriteModern Warfare 2map Highrise,Call of Duty: Mobilewill officially premiere Season 8: The Forge today at 5:00 p.m. PT. According to the roadmap released by the mobile game’s Twitter account, the additions available at launch will include Highrise, a new multiplayer mode called Juggernaut, the “Shrapnel” perk, and two weapons: The HRBa3 and DR-H.

Juggernaut mode will pit five players against one according to the description of the YouTube video for this new season’s official trailer, which is set to premiere in a few hours as of this writing. The battle pass being released alongside this season of content will include the DR-H, as well as two unique skins for the playable operators Tank Dempsey and Kreuger, whileCall of Duty: Mobile’s HBRa3 rifle will be available through a seasonal challenge available at launch.

The roadmap put out on Twitter also points out new content coming throughout the season. In mid-July, the game will feature an event called Solstice Awakened and release the KRM-262 shotgun through a seasonal challenge, while in late-July there will be a new operator skill adding Katanas while the “Quick Fix” perk will be available through another seasonal challenge. These fairly robust content plans for what otherwise seems to be a mobile spin-off of the first-person shooter franchise makes sense consideringCall of Duty: Mobilehas been downloaded over 250 million timesas of June.

One strange omission from this new season is content that was leaked by the game’s Southeast Asian publisher Garena earlier this month. That leak pointed tomajor villain Vladimir Makarov being added for “Apocalypse Day,“which seemed to be the theme of the upcoming Season 8. However, that leaked image was dated July 11, so there’s still a possibility it will occur as a smaller event.

WhileCall of Duty: Mobileprepares to launch its next season, the mainline titlesCall of Duty: Modern Warfareand the battle royaleWarzoneare also seeing new content and improvements. Earlier today, Activision pushed out an update thatfixed bugs with the new Rytec AMR.

The games' developers have also been making changes to reflect real-world events. Following Black Lives Matter protests around the world, Infinity Ward announced its intention to combat hateful and racist usernames, and it alsorecently removed the OK gesturedue to its ties with white supremacists.

Call of Duty: Mobileis available on Android and iOS devices.
