Players may enjoy an extended version of Shipment 24/7 for a week before major playlist changes come in the Season 3 update. Four new core maps will be added to the 6v6 playlists inModern Warfare 2, and two new battle maps will be added to the Ground War and Invasion modes. Pelayo’s Lighthouse and Black Gold will be available in 6v6 playlists at launch in Season 3, and Alboran Hatchery and a fourth core map will be released in the mid-season update. The Rohan Oil and Sattiq Cave Complex battle maps will be available on Season 3 launch day, so players can expect four new maps to explore and compete in during launch day. The aforementioned core maps will also be featured in a slew of new modes coming to theModern Warfare 2playlist.
Last seen inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the Cranked multiplayer mode makes its return inModern Warfare 2Season 3. Cranked is a modified Team Deathmatch mode where players must kill their opponents before a countdown timer reaches zero. The player will explode if the timer reaches zero, so Cranked urges players to rush into battle and extend their timer with kills. Additionally, theGunfight mode from 2019’sModern Warfarewill arrive at launch with Alley, Blacksite, Exhibit, and Shipment maps in rotation. Players can also expect the return of the 3v3 Face Off mode from 2011’sModern Warfare 3and the addition of Ground War Infected later during the third season.
TheModern Warfare 2Season 3 update appears to be massive, but it remains to be seen if any popular modes from the April 5 playlist update will return on April 12. Fortunately, the map and mode variety for Season 3 already seems promising since a lot of new content is on the way. The inclusion ofthe highly popular Shipment mapin Gunfight will likely be welcomed in the community as well.
Alongside the new maps and modes,Modern Warfare 2Season 3 will feature a highly anticipated confrontation between Alejandro and Valeria. Season 3 will be a very eventful season forModern Warfare 2with even more new content arriving in the form of a mid-season update.
