List of All New Weapons in MW3
Including melee options,Modern Warfare 3features 37 new weapons at launch. These include six ARs, six SMGs, five LMGs, four MRs, four Pistols, three Shotguns, three BRs, and three SRs, as well as two knives and one launcher.

Assault Rifles
The new ARs inModern Warfare 3areSVA 545, MTZ-556, Holger 556, MCW, OG-58, and FR 5.56. Most of these weapons feature a burst-fire system, with two of them capable of shooting three-round bursts and one having a two-round initial blast.
Battle Rifles
New BRs includeBAS-B, MTZ-762, and Sidewinder. BAS-B has a low recoil, which suits mid to long-range combat. MTZ-762 shoots powerful 7.62 rounds at a fast speed, excellent for dropping multiple enemies. And Sidewinder is a 0.450 caliber beast with a long, deadly range.
Submachine Guns
SMGs,the most popular secondary weapons, dominate the newMW3arsenal. With six brand-new options, includingStriker, Striker 9, WSP Swarm, WSP-9, AMR9, and Rival-9, this category is set to be a major part of the metagame.
Light Machine Guns
Modern Warfare 3adds five new firearms to thetried-and-true roster of LMGs inMW2. The new Light Machine Guns areBruen Mk9, Holger 26, OG-58 LSW, Pulemyot 762, and TAQ Eradicator. Of these, the TAQ Eradicator seems to be a META. But it unlocks after completing an Unlock Challenge.
Sniper Rifles
On top of the seven SRs fromMW2,Modern Warfare 3will feature three new Sniper Rifles:KATT-AMR, KV Inhibitor, and Longbow. However, the .50 cal bolt-action KATT seems to be the onlyone-shot sniping option.
Marksman Rifles
The new MRs inModern Warfare 3areDM56, KVD Enforcer, MCW 6.8, and MTZ Interceptor. While most of these firearms specialize in bolt/lever action and above-average mobility, the DM56 is the most promising addition, as it has the best-in-class fire rate with impressively low recoil.
Shotguns
With the three new Shotguns inMW3, there will be a total of nine scatterguns in the game. On top of the previous options, players can now boastHaymaker, Riveter, and Lockwood 680,all dominant in close quarters and excellent for hip-fire and Tac-Stance.
Pistols
Hoping to balance the metagame both inMW3multiplayerandWarzone, Activision has introduced four new pistols:COR-45, Renetti, TYR, and WSP Stinger. An ideal aspect of these firearms is their fast mobility and rapid swap animations, which make them reliable secondary weapons.
Knives & Launcher
A new launcher calledRGL-80has made its way into theMW3’s weapon roster. However, players will also have two new melee choices,Gutter Knife and Karambit.
