Reddit user NotMegatron has been producing informative graphics that break down complicated mechanics within the game. After previously investigating therecoil formula involved in each of the attachmentsfor the Assault Rifle, this fan is now expanding their research into the weapon type itself.

The graphics clearly show the recoil of the each Assault Rifle from both a five-shot pattern and a 30 shot pattern. The five-shot was to aid players in visualizing the difference in the first five shots. Meanwhile, the 30 shot test was to find the overall spray patterns of each weapon. The two weapons that showed the least amount of recoil effects were the FR 5.56 and FAL. This is mainly due to the nature of the weapons themselves as the FR is a three-round burst, and theFAL is semi-automatic.
Not counting the two weapons above, the gun with the least amount of recoil is the Kilo 141. This weapon saw very little drift while maintaining a close spread of bullets. The weapon with the most recoil was the ODEN, with less than a quarter of the shots on the actual target.
Although the Kilo is not considered one of thebest assault rifles inModern Warfare,the ODEN is known to be one of the strongest. The weapon’s accuracy leaves much to be desired, but it only takes one of two hits to down an enemy in a standard game.
