The most common complaints about the system revolve around the lackluster network connection it causes, which seems to be a staple issue with most games that use it. Skill-based matchmaking focuses on connecting players with others of the “same” skill level. In exchange, the system disregards matching through quality connection, making an already trying situation worse for fans. Lag on top of fightingthe most potent weapons of the metadoesn’t make for a very enjoyable multiplayer experience.
Skill-based matchmaking has never really been the most popular feature in shooting games. Even theDestinycommunity has its fair share of complaints about it. While the intention of the system makes sense, it doesn’t do what it sets out to most of the time. Players who do even somewhat decently in their causal games tend to find themselves matched with others who take the game a tad bit more seriously than they do, which turns things into a struggle rather than a fun experience.
Infinity Ward does respond to community feedback on Reddit. But, despite the fact that this particular post has been up for three days and is fairly popular, Infinity Ward hasn’t commented on it yet, which, again, is what the Reddit post is making fun of in the first place. It could be the hold-up is that the team is working on how tonerf the 725 shotgun without accidentally buffing it this time. But then skill-based matchmaking is something fans have been complaining about for a while now without progress. Hopefully, this Reddit post will be enough to get the Infinity Ward’s attention on the issue, though, and fans can get the solutions their looking for.
