Even thoughCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas become themost playedCall of Dutygame this generation, the game is not a flawless experience. In fact, since it launched in October, the game has had a laundry list of various issues from overpowered weapons, to map related issues, and other various bugs and glitches. One issue that has seemingly been with the game since the beta day are the spawn locations. While fixes have been attempted, the issue now seems to be much worse than it has been.
Earlier this week, Infinity Ward released a brand new updated forCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewhich brought an influx of new content to players including the newly reimagined map, Shipment. Originally fromCall of Duty 4, this map adds a bit more verticality than longtime fans may remember. However, as one Redditor highlights, the spawn system on this map is much more broken than it is on other maps and ultimately making the game’s camping issue even more severe.

In the posted video, one player is able to earn a match ending tactical nuke in just 41 seconds after basically farming 30 weapon kills without dying. Essentially, the player is able to basically sit behind the spawn location and just pick off every member of the enemy team as they continue to spawn in the same spot. Making this easier is the fact that each enemy spawns in with their back to the player.
As some members of the community have pointed out, the game doesn’t seem to recognize thatthe Shipment spawn locationis compromised and this behavior can be seen on other maps like Shoot House, though not to this extreme of a level. Typically, teams need to coordinate 2-3 players to camp spawn locations like this, but this is really the first big example of a player dominating an enemy spawn area completely solo.
While this may be the most blatant example of broken spawning in the game, it’s certainly not an isolated incident based on other posts and comments within the sub-Reddit. Many new threads have started to appear with players lamenting the fact that spawn abuse is now an even bigger issue inside of the game. Examples from both sides of players getting killed every couple seconds, to others racking up massive kill streaks without having to move around the map.
This spawn issue joins a rapidly growing list of bugs and problems players are experiencing. While Infinity Ward continues to release patches, there have been more than a few occasions which saw new bugs added to the game or an expected fix didn’t have the impact fans though it would such asthe wildly overpowered 725 Shotgun. Unfortunately there’s no timetable yet on a spawn fix, but with how fast this issue has risen in the community, perhaps Infinity Ward will also make it a higher priority before the start of the holiday season next week.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
