Call of Dutyis adding several celebrity Operators toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2andCall of Duty: Warzonein Season 05, including Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, and 21 Savage. The decision was made in celebration of 50 years of hip-hop and will be accompanied by deliveries of free hip-hop War Track Packs throughout the newCall of Dutyseason. Season 05 ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2andCall of Duty: Warzonewill be arriving on August 2, and it will be packed with new content. InModern Warfare 2, Activision isbringing back its Strike map fromCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfareand adding a new one named Punta Mar, plus a third map to be added in-season. InCall of Duty: Warzonethere will be two new vehicles, plus a section of Al Mazrah is being converted into a Resurgence map. All that and the return of Task Force 141, two new weapons, and more.

The biggest surprise of Season 05 is the addition of three new Operators. Available in theSeason 05 launchwindow around August 2 will be Snoop Dogg himself. Snoop Dogg is layered in golden jewelry and will be wearing a collared shirt featuring a design covered in golden marijuana leaves. It’s exactly how Snoop Dogg would like to be added toCall of Duty.
In addition to Snoop Dogg, both Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage will also be receiving Operator bundles forCall of Dutyplayers to purchase.Rapper and songwriter Minajwill launch in-season during Season 05 and will be wearing silver jewelry and accessories with a shiny ruby dress. 21 Savage arrives mid-season and his skin has yet to be fully unveiled. He’s said to arrive alongside the launch of the Season 05 Reloaded update.
The addition of the three operators is described to be in celebration of 50 years of hip-hop history. That’s not to say that Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, or 21 Savage have been around for 50 years, of course. It’s in reference to what many see as hip-hop’s origin, going back to block parties in New York City in the 1970s. One moment in the Bronx in 1973 where DJ Kool Herc is attributed with using a mixer to swap between two records is often seen as a key moment in the birth of hip hop.
