As such, keeping any live service game alive requires a dedicated community as well as a steady flow of new players.

On Twitter,Call of Dutyhas announced a new program aspart of the imminent Season 3called Recruit a Friend which will give players rewards for inviting their friends to playWarzone 2. Both the recruiter and new recruits will be able to unlock the items by playing and completing contracts, challenges and missions together. The main feature of the listed rewards are two weapon blueprints, one for Akimbo sidearms and one for the FSS Hurricane SMG, both sporting a sleek white weapon coating. Additional rewards include two calling cards as well as two double XP tokens which help players rank up and level their weapons quicker.

If the recruiting players have played for a minimum of three hours and have an account older than 60 days they’re free to begin inviting up to three friends toWarzone 2. As long as the new players' Activision accounts are less than a week old, andit’s been 60 days since they’ve last playedWarzone 2if at all, they’re eligible to jump in and start earning the rewards alongside their recruiter.

Over the past few months it’s been reported that theplayer counts for bothModern Warfare 2andWarzone 2have begun to plummet. With the wealth of new content coming in Season 3 later this month as well as this new Recruit a Friend program kicking off, it will be interesting to see if the FPS multiplayer juggernaut that isCall of Dutycan bring back players who’ve left as well as get new recruits to jump into the warzone.
