Capcom reconfirms that the Switch release date forResident Evil Villagewill be June 23, 2025, with the launch of otherResident Eviltitles to follow.Resident Evil Villageis the eighth mainline entry in the series, continuing the journey of Ethan Winters following the end ofResident Evil Biohazardas he searches for his daughter Rose. The horror game was one of the main focuses of the recentResident Evilshowcase hosted by Capcom, alongside the upcoming remake ofResident Evil 4.

WhileResident Evil Villagehas been out for over a year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Series X, and PC, those playing on the Nintendo Switch have felt somewhat left out from the horror experience. Capcom previously confirmed thatResident Evil Villagewould be coming to the Switchvia the Cloud, which allows the hybrid console to run more demanding games.A Plague Tale: Requiemrecently released for Switch via Cloud, for example, showing that graphically impressive titles can come to the less powerful machine.

As part of theResident Evilshowcase, Capcom confirmed when the latest title would be coming to Switch. In a short new trailer, it was again confirmed thatResident Evil Villagewill release on the Switch very soon, on October 28. Three other titles also had their launch dates solidified after Capcom had previously only stated that they were set to release in 2022.Resident Evil 2’sCloud version launches on Switch a few weeks afterVillage, on November 11, andResident Evil 3then joins the roster on November 18.

There’s a slightly longer wait forResident Evil Biohazard, which drops on December 16. It was also confirmed in the trailer that theWinters' ExpansionforResident Evil Village, which contains a new third-person mode, additional characters for Mercenaries mode, and the Shadows of Rose story DLC, will also be coming to the Switch. However, the expansion won’t be launching on the Switch at the same time that it releases for other platforms, with Capcom only stating it will come to the Nintendo console “soon.”

Alongside giving plenty of news onResident Evil Village Gold Editionand theWinters' Expansion, Capcom also gave fans a look at another highly anticipated title in its latest showcase. TheResident Evil 4remake was announced earlier this year, but Capcom recently showed off a lot of new content for the upcoming release. Fans got a look at the collector’s edition, PC requirements, andstory for theResident Evil 4remake.

Resident Evil Villageis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and the Switch version releases June 19, 2025.
