Call of Duty: Warzonehas a huge number of weapon to choose from, but some stand head and shoulders above the rest. The AK-47 is one of thevery best weapons inModern Warfare, and a lot of its benefits are present inWarzoneas well. As an AR that can compete with the M4A1, any player would be remiss to ignore the AK’s potential in competitive gameplay, but the gun does have some interesting idiosyncrasies that come to light when it is pushed into service inWarzone.
InWarzone, often the weapons that excel the most are long-range damage dealers like sniper rifles, DMRs, or very accurate ARs. The AK-47 is interesting to use because it has great damage range and massive damage per shot, but its recoil and accuracy can be difficult to wrangle. It is a much more high risk, high reward weapon than the likes of the M4A1, M13, or RAM-7. The biggest challenge when using the AK-47 is increasing its controllability without ruining its mobility and ADS-times.

AK-47 Attachments for Warzone
There are a few standout attachments for the AK-47 that will wring the most potential out of the gun. The Spetsnaz Elite barrel and RPK barrel both increase the accuracy and control of the gun, but the Spetsnaz suffers from fewer mobility penalties. The Romanian barrel has great benefits, but slows down ADS speeds too much and precludes the use of an under-barrel attachment. The Field LMG stock is fantastic because it reigns in the recoil of the AK without increasing ADS times, while the Commando foregrip remains a tried-and-true attachment. The AK has both 40-round magazines and 75-round drum mags, both of which allow itshred through armor inWarzonewith aplomb.
The Monolithic suppressor is one of the best attachments for almost any gun in Warzone, but in the case of the AK-47, speeding up ADS times is important. For the AK, it may be best to give up stealth and focus on handling for a bit more aggression. However, there areweapons better suited to close-range combat forWarzone. Optics are totally up to preference, but most of the other stocks reduce accuracy far too much to make up for their quicker ADS times. Stippled grip tape is the best way to boost ADS time for the AK without ruining its accuracy.

AK-47 Builds for Warzone
The AK-47 is an interesting weapon forWarzonebecause it has both amazing upsides and some heinous downsides. Unlike a verybalanced and predictable M4A1, the AK-47 has very high highs and very low lows. It struggles with accuracy, but pours out damage, and can achieve excellent range at the cost of terrible mobility and handling. A truly balanced build is tough to make, but even so the AK can achieve a lot of success with focused setups.
The major thing that the AK has going for it is its versatility. It might be themost versatile weapon inWarzone, which reflects the popularity of its platform in the real world. For example, it can easily become a super long-range, accurate LMG with a zoom optic, Monolithic suppressor, RPK barrel, Ranger foregrip, and 75-round drum mags. Such a setup is super controllable and can tear through opponents at frightening range, but has awful ADS times and mobility.

A respectably well-balanced mid-range build would include an optic of choice, Spetsnaz elite barrel, Commando foregrip, 40-round or 75-round magazines, and the Field LMG stock. It sacrifices stealth, but has very good range and control while still wrangling respectable mobility out of the gun, even with a heavy drum mag. For those whoprioritize stealth inWarzone, which is highly recommended, a good optic, Monolithic suppressor, Spetsnaz Elite barrel, Commando foregrip, and Stippled Grip Tape will do the trick. It sacrifices a larger magazine size, but getting the drop on an enemy can be a much greater benefit for those who prefer that playstyle.
For a long-range build with at least decent mobility, a zoom optic, RPK barrel, Commando foregrip, 40-round magazine, and Field LMG stock will be plenty. The AK-47 might even be able to compete at medium- to long-range with the likes of theSKS Sniperjust added in Season 3, just because of its rate of fire. However, the gun may just have too many glaring downsides to ever be as popular as other ARs or even LMGs inWarzone.
The AK-47 takes a fine touch, and might be better suited to experienced players who can take full advantage of its benefits while ignoring its myriad downsides. It is highly reccomended to bring astrong sidearm like the renettito make up for whatever area one’s chosen AK-47 build lacks in. However, in a well-balanced squad with a variety of weapons, the AK-47 definitely has a place as an incredibly strong damage dealer, especially when there are other teammates that can pick up a bit of its slack.
