Crysis Remastered’s reveal has gone all wrong. The game was originally planned to be revealed today with a new gameplay trailer showing just how Crytek has improved the 2007 PC game. However, a leaked trailer and a lot of negative feedback have led to Crytek reneging on its plans, pulling the reveal video before its planned release. Further, Crytake has now announced thatCrysis Remasteredwill no longer meet its previously announced release date, delaying the game “by a few weeks.”
The reason for Crytek’s decision is simple enough. It wants to polishCrysis Remasteredsome more in order to meet fan expectations. Crytek even cites fan reactions to the leakedCrysis Remasteredtrailer as the reason for its decision. “We’ve seen the reactions – the good and the bad – and we’re listening!” is as much asCrytekis willing to say on the matter. As such, Crytek says it’s working on “a number of things” includingCrysis Remastered’s storefront.

As for what Crytek wants to focus on with the extra time, it says that it wants to getCrysis Remastered"up to the PC and console-breaking standard" that fans expect from the classic game.Crysis, during its prime, was well-known to be a great benchmark for testingPC hardware. That obviously isn’t going to be something Crytek can also do with consoles, but it can definitely push console hardware further than what was shown in the leaked trailer.
In the meantime, Crytek asks fans to be patient and understanding of the situation, saying “We hope you understand what we’re up to - and that you stay with us while we take the time to make a few more improvements.” The game was originally leaked to launch on July 23, so with a delay of several weeks, an August or Septemberrelease dateseems likely.
Exactly how much can be done with a game in just a few weeks remains to be seen, especially with the game being so near to its release date already. That’s clearly not enough time for major changes, but Crytek can certainly make adjustments, bugfix, and clean up anyUI graphical problems.
Crysisis coming back, but itsremasteris already off to an auspicious start. MaybeCrysiswas never intended to release off of the PC after all.
