After finding an iconic weapon inCyberpunk 2077, players will naturally have the instinct to equip it right away and test it out for a few shots. Their curiosity is admirable, but too often they conclude that the new weapon isn’t as good as their old one and revert aftera few rounds of combat. The problem is that mods are a huge part of what makes a weapon great and so these trial runs need the benefit of them to have an accurate side-by-side comparison.

This goes for clothing and cybernetics as well. It’s difficult that there are so many guides dedicated to finding equipment, but so few resources that tell players how to make the equipment shine. Of course, some room for personal taste is in order, but there is a set of mods that most people agree will make V’s journey throughCyberpunk 2077a successful one.
Updated July 24, 2025 by Erik Petrovich: The base version of Cyberpunk 2077 offered players a number of mods to almost every piece of equipment, but after updates throughout 2023, the number of mods has drastically been reduced. In fact, the entire category of Clothing mods no longer exists, as almostall stats come from Cyberwarenow. That isn’t to say that recent updates haven’t given players new tools to play with, though. This guide to the best Cyberpunk 2077 weapon mods has been trimmed of its clothing mods (as they are no longer available in game). In their place, players can find a new section detailing the best weapon mod post-Phantom Liberty: the Wallpuncher.

6XC-10 Alecto
The Best Weapon Mod For Stealth Assassins
There is only one rare silencer in the game and it is the XC-10 Alecto. While most silencers reduce damage by 30%, this one allows V to keep all but 15% of the damage, more than fair since sniping from stealth is doing a whopping 2.5 times the standard damage already. Not being heard from the shadows will keep intruders out of one ofV’s new apartments.
Where To Find The XC-10 Alecto Weapon Mod
Find this one for free in a suitcase at an assault in progress in Rancho Coronado, Santo Domingo.
5Pacifier
Increases Critical Hit Damage, But Not Chance
RELATED:Cyberpunk 2077: Things The Game Doesn’t Tell You About 6th Street
Once gamers get to the 100% crit chance threshold, the only thing to do from there is to stack crit damage and no weapon mod does it like the Pacifier, which adds 14% critical damage. When players get to this point, they should be feeling pretty good.To make things look as good requires a nifty mod.

Where To Find The Pacifier Weapon Mod
Much like its counterpart, the Penetrator, the epic version can be purchased, but the legendary variety must be made. The blueprints are for sale at the gun shop in western Wellspring.
4Penetrator
Increases Crit Chance – Simple, But Devastatingly Effective
Before when crits didn’t stack, the Penetrator had to give way to the Crunch. Now, it’s considered a top-tier mod thanks to a 6% increase to crit chance, getting players who are trying to be the best closer to that perfect 100% crit chance. It’s so awesome thatV should think about changing looksjust to match the gun it’s equipped on.
Where To Find The Penetrator Weapon Mod
Right between the Berkley & Bay and the Palms View Plaza in Wellspring, the crafting blueprint will be on the ground. This is the only way to get the legendary version of the mod, but, for the non-crafters, the epic version (with a 5% crit chance) can be purchased at other vendors.
3Vendetta
A Huge 20% Boost To Headshot Damage, But It Is Outclassed Later
So much of the damage in the game is derived from headshots, so any mod that boosts hits to the head by 20% in damage is going to be regarded as extremely powerful. The Vendetta has been lovingly referred to in the community as the “headshot mod” and with good reason; this is a straight-up 20% boost to sniper fire or any other headshot and is often considered the best mod in all ofCyberpunk 2077. Based on the forums and global search data, it’s certainly the most sought-after!
Where To Find The Vendetta Weapon Mod
There is the aftermath of a gang fight in The Glen, Heywood in an alley. It appears there were no survivors, so the Vendetta is up for grabs in a briefcase. How this is listed as only a “rare” mod is anybody’s guess.
2Trajectory Analysis
Legendary Mod That Further Enhances Headshot Damage Via Optics
This is the only legendary ocular mod in the game and it’s the only one gamers could ever want since it puts headshot damage through the roof with an extra 25%. It can end fights before they begin and decrease thereliance on important consumables.
Where To Find The Trajectory Analysis Weapon Mod
Viktor has one for sale at his shop in Little China, Watson. As one might assume, this is of the legendary variety and it costs as much as a high-end car, but for gamers that focus on headshots, this is essentially a flat 50% increase to damage; way too good to pass up.
1Wallpuncher
Enhanced Tech Weapon Charge Plus Armor Penetration – What’s Not To Love?
The Wallpuncher is one of the best weapon mods inCyberpunk 2077because of its potential to more than double the damage that players are capable of doing with their chargeable tech weapons. By increasing total charge limit to 200%, without increasing the time it takes to charge to the max limit, the Wallpuncher can singlehandedly turn an underwhelming Tech gun into a powerhouse.
And that’s without even considering the secondary bonus that comes with this weapon mod – it also adds 100 Armor Penetration. Tech weapons are already, for the most part, able to penetrate through walls, but charging weapons can struggle in fast-paced situations. With the extra Armor Penetration on top of its increased Charge capacity, the Wallpuncher is the biggest jump in power a Technical Ability player can experience.

Where To Find The Wallpuncher Weapon Mod
The Wallpuncher can only be crafted, and only after thePhantom Libertyquestline involving the Militech Chimera, a quest towards the start of the DLC titled “The Spider and the Fly”. This terrifying bot releases a legendary Active Chimera Core upon defeat, which is the only material necessary to craft a Wallpuncher. It can only be used once, and is also used for several other weapon mods. But of all the options, and even of all the new weapon mods inPhantom Liberty, this is the one worth spending it on.
