WhenCyberpunk 2077launched, developer CD Projekt Red had removed some of the features that were originally planned for the game. While this is a completely normal part of the game development process, manyCyberpunk 2077fans wish that one cut feature, wall running, had been kept in.
Wall running was originally shown in the game’s trailer at E3 in 2018 before it was cut due to the developers having a hard time integrating it into the design of Night City.Cyberpunk 2077has been building an impressive library of modssince its release, and now modder Saturne is looking to bring wall running back to the game.

The mod is available as a work in progress on Nexus Mods, and is being developed by modder Saturne. The mod’s description makes it very clear that the mod still has some issues that need to be worked out, and even calls it more of a proof of concept than anything else. However, it does work somewhat and allows players to double jump next to a wall to quickly sprint across it. While the mod does not work on every wall in Night City, it could be a useful traversal tool and may even let some players get to different places to get some uniqueviews ofCyberpunk 2077’s gorgeous setting.
Another known issue with the mod sees the player slipping through the wall if they do not remain looking forward while they run across it, but as the mod is still a work in progress hopefully the issues will be ironed out over time. Regardless of the issues, the mod is pretty impressive and has the potential to dramatically change the way players navigate Night City and approach various missionsthroughoutCyberpunk 2077’s campaign. The comment section on the mod’s page is already filling up with various tips and suggestions, so hopefully, it will not take long for the mod to get fixed up.
Cyberpunk 2077has received a number of patches and updatessince its release that have begun addressing the complaints voiced by the game’s community. However, adding something like wall running back into the game would be such a large update that it is very unlikely that CD Projekt Red would ever attempt to add it back into the game. So, it is nice that this mod is available for fans who were really looking forward to that feature before it was cut from the game.
Cyberpunk 2077is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are also in development.
