Nowadays, it seems that game development companies are taking notice of the advantages ofvideo game community surveys. Not only can they be used to crowdsource for the player community’s feedback and interest for upcoming video game titles, they are also a great source of free information from the developer’s own target market. Recently, Spike Chunsoft released aDanganronpaDecadencesurvey that asked for feedback from its players. However, one of the survey questions hints that another title in the series,Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, could make its way onto the Nintendo Switch.
Many fans ofDanganronpawere likely very excited when the series finally made its way onto theNintendo Switch viaDanganronpa Decadence. The collection was launched last December 2021 in the West, with Japan getting the release earlier in November 2021. The collection of titles was made available only through a physical cartridge bundle, making it quite hard to get for fans of the series. However, players could purchase the individual titles from the bundle via the Nintendo eShop. Fans likely noticed thatDanganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girlswas not included in the title, and therefore possibly the reason why it showed up in the latest Spike Chunsoft survey.

On Twitter, the English account of Spike Chunsoft asked its fans who played theDanganronpa DecadenceNintendo Switch collection to answer their product survey. Upon clicking the link, players will see stereotypical questions about which platform they played on the most, typical gaming hours, and their experience with the Switch game bundle. On the last page, one of the final questions asked survey takers if they would be interested to see a release ofUltra Despair Girlsfor the Nintendo Switch. However, this is the only question related to thatparticularDanganronpavideo game, and is likely not an indication the game will definitely be released.
Though the question was at the end of the survey, eagle-eyed fans seem to have taken particular notice of it already. Replies on the Twitter thread state their interest towards the port beyond what is included in theDanganronpa Decadenceanniversary collection. Some are even holding out hope for a physical release for the title. However, Spike Chunsoft has yet to address any speculation about a remaster ofUltra Despair Girls.
Hopefully the company takes theDanganronpacommunity’s interest inUltra Despair Girlsseriously. With more players answering positively on the recent survey, it may be possible that the company will add the title in their lineup of remasters in the future.
