Stranger Thingsstar David Harbour, along withKilling Eveactor Jodie Comer, will reportedly be appearing together in an upcoming unknown horror game. Though the actor has long been a fan of video games, especiallyWorld of Warcraftwhich Harbour will be streaming, this mysterious project would mark the first time he’s made the transition into the medium as a performer.
Best known for his role as Hopper in Netflix’sStranger Things, from which he gained widespread fame, Harbour’s acting career stretches back to the late 90s. In recent years he’s starred in theBlack Widowfilm and the 2019Hellboymovie. He will also be appearing in the upcomingGran Turismofilm adaptation, marking his first foray into a video game franchise. Cormer, though less involved than Harbour, also has experience as a gamer, stating that she spent “way too much time” playingGrand Theft Auto.

Harbour has been recruited by Blizzard to promote therecently releasedWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight, and while doing an interview for the game, he was asked if he would ever like to star in a video game. His response revealed some heretofore unknown information: “I actually have a game coming out” he said. “Me and Jodie Cormer did a video game. That’ll be coming out… I think it’s next year. A horror game.” He didn’t offer any other details however, and its unclear if the information was actually intended to be revealed, as no official announcements have been made.
In the same interview, the actor discussed what game he would like to be in, if the opportunity presented itself. “I really like what those guys in theGod of Waruniverse are doing with my buddy Richard Schiff as Odin. They sort of mess around with that genre too, and they’re always surprising in terms of these gods," Harbour shared. Though if the actor is to become part of that franchise, it would likely be without any of the Norse characters he mentioned, asGod of War Ragnarokconcludes the Norse trilogy.
If this news is officially confirmed, Harbour will join the expanding list of A-list Hollywood stars that are dipping their toes into video game IPs.The Witcherstar Henry Cavillhas done a lot to lead the way in that interest. His presence as the leading man in the show, plus his unapologetic attitude towards his passion for gaming have helped bridge the gap between the two industries for actors. In the interview, Harbour himself discussed how gaming was once looked down on, but has now become much more mainstream, allowing him to be more open about his own love of the industry.
If this unknown horror game does indeed see the light of day, the inclusion of acting talent like Harbour and Cormer will likely be a big draw for fans. And while they wait for him to appear in theGran Turismofilm, his gamer fans will have to be satisfied watching him playWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight.
