Deathloopwill follow Colt, a man who wakes up every day on the island of Blackreef and attempts to break the time loop the island is stuck in. Behind the loop are eight “Visionaries” who have taken over Blackreef in the hopes of achieving eternal life.
The Visionaries will be Colt’s main targets on his mission to break free from his eternal prison. Here’s who the Visionaries are, and the roles they will play inDeathloopthat have been revealed so far.

Two Birds, One Stone
The Visionaries are an eclectic bunch. Some are petty criminals, others are scientists, while some simply want eternal life for the sake of their own hedonism. The “Two Birds, One Stone"Deathlooptrailer does provide some insight into the Visionaries and how they might relate to Blackreef and its time loop.
ThisDeathlooptrailermakes it clear that for Colt “the loop is knowledge, knowledge is power,” and “power is freedom.” It focuses on two of the Visionaries in particular, Egor Serling and Aleksis “the Wolf” Dorsey. Egor is a scientist, and unless Colt stops him, every day he makes the same big breakthrough which causes him to pass up an invitation to a party being hosted by Aleksis. Aleksis is one of the Visionaries' biggest financial backers, having made his money in pharmaceuticals. Now, he hosts a cannibalistic masquerade ball to live out his twisted power fantasies.
The trailer establishes that Egor and Aleksis can be manipulated into being in the same place at the same time ifDeathloop’s protagonist Coltprevents Egor from making his breakthrough. This establishes that, unlike Colt, Egor is not able to retain the knowledge of things like his breakthrough from past loops. This would suggest that the Visionaries' memories reset with each loop.
The exception to this appears to beJulianna “Jules” Blake. Jules is the other possible player character inDeathloop, and is a Visionary tasked with hunting down Colt and protecting the loop. In the trailer she says “you keep forgetting, Colt. I’m not like those other idiots.” This implies that she remembers Colt from previous loops and is likely the only Visionary who can retain knowledge between loops.

The Other Visionaries
Far less has been revealed about the other Visionaries so far, though some details are available. Ramblin' Frank Spicer is a Visionary who has a radio show onBlackreef. He runs a casino called the Rambling Rock Club, and before becoming a Visionary and wannabe rockstar, he was a member of the mob. Little is known about Charlie Montague, though the Lead Character Artist described him as having had a “rough life” before arriving on Black Reef, explaining why he looks so haggard at the age of 24. Similarly, little has been revealed about Harriet Morse, though her ’60s haircut was inspired by the work of British hairstylist Vidal Sassoon.
Fia Zborowska will be another Visionary, though beyond the inspiration for her look, players still don’t have an inkling as to the role she’ll play on Blackreef. Dr. Wenjie Evans is described byDeathloop’s Lead Character Artistas a “pretty special character” with a power that will “make your life really hard.” Though this is not elaborated upon, many fans will be very curious to see the role Wenjie plays.
If Colt is going to take downthe Visionarieshe will need to learn everything about their routines, their powers, and their personalities. With such a colorful cast of characters players will need all of their wits about them if they’re going to have a shot at escaping Blackreef. Why Jules appears to be unique among the Visionaries remains to be seen.
