The latest expansion forDestiny 2has brought a wide variety of new powers to the table in the form of Strand, though one player has discovered that the Hunter’s Ensnaring Slam ability can quickly lead to getting stuck in map geometry if used in tight spaces. Aside from the powerful new combat possibilities that it opens up, Strand also provides greatly increased maneuverability options to all three classes inDestiny 2, with the Grapple ability in particular allowing players to swing over the battlefield.
Of course, all three classes do have many of their own unique abilities when it comes to Strand. While Super abilities, melees, and Aspects are unique to each class, grenade abilities, and Fragments are available to any type of Guardian. The manypotential combinations ofDestiny 2’s Strand powerscan lead to some truly fearsome albeit different builds across all classes, with players able to overwhelm their foes with an army of Threadlings or trap them in place with Suspend depending on their playstyle. These aren’t the only ways to wield Strand though, and the newly-introduced Neptunian city of Neomuna provides fans the perfect environment to hone and perfect these abilities.

Players have already encountered a variety ofbugs inadvertently brought along withDestiny 2: Lightfallso far, many of them involving Strand. A player known as AlibiXSX on Reddit shared a funny clip on the site which shows them getting stuck helplessly on the map after using their Ensnaring Slam ability. The clip presents the player traversing a massive space using a combination of advanced movement techniques as well as Strand, but when they attempt to land back on the ground using the dive ability, they get wedged in between some metal bars and become completely unable to move. The player was only able to continue with the game after a nearby group of Vex killed them, sending them back to the last checkpoint.
Though the clip showcased them getting jammed in an unfortunately specific spot, it seems likely that other players could find themselves getting stuck in the same way in other spaces if they’re not careful with their usage of the ability. While it doesn’t seem likely to happen all too often, thephysics engine inDestiny 2is notorious for getting Guardians killed in the most frustrating ways.
While Strand has certainly left a good impression on many players, the same unfortunatelycan’t be said for theDestiny 2:Lightfallexpansionas a whole. Most fans of course have their own opinions about the game’s latest DLC, but the consensus of a disappointing narrative has led to the expansion receiving some overwhelmingly negative reviews across several platforms.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
