Now, Blizzard has revealed that players who participate in the upcomingDiablo 4Beta event in Maywill need to create new characters. Gamers who were hoping to keep their progress will be disappointed, as their current characters will be deleted, together with all rewards accumulated so far. Furthermore, characters created for the upcoming Beta will suffer from the same fate, getting ditched before the official release.

TheupcomingDiablo 4playtestwill be named “Server Slam” and was created to stress out the game’s servers before the official launch, seeing how many gamers the servers can hold at the same time. All bug fixes and changes made so far will be implemented in the game during the short event, which will happen between May 12 and 14. Also, Blizzard has decided to allow players who reach the maximum level to get two titles and an exclusive cosmetic. Unfortunately, the max level will still be 20, so people who played it before won’t have as much new content as they would like.

Recently,Diablo 4also detailed its endgame progressionahead of the game’s launch. When the title is finally released in June, players will get access to lengthy post-game content, including Capstone Dungeons, which will increase the World Tier and bring new rewards, as well as finding special Aspects, or trying out dungeons in Nightmare Mode. Hopefully, this content will give players more challenges and high-level rewards that will keep them engaged with the upcoming live service game for a long time.

Diablo 4releases June 6 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
