Diablo 4gives players with wider monitors a significant advantage, as discovered by those playing the game’s recent beta. Blizzard has been giving fans their first opportunity to play the long-awaitedDiablo 4through beta tests. The first beta test took place this past weekend and was limited in scope, whereas theDiablo 4open beta will blow the doors wide open to anyone that wants to try the action-RPG before its launch later this year.
TheDiablo 4open betawill take place March 24 at 9am PT to March 27 at 12pm PT. It will feature much of the same content that was featured in the previous beta test, but with two new classes to try. Along with theDiablo 4classes that were featured in the previous beta, participants will also get the chance to try out the Necromancer and Druid classes as well.

Blizzard is getting a lot of feedback from fans who have played the beta, and it’s clear that there will definitely need to be changes implemented between now and when the game launches in June. One thing Blizzard will want to address is an exploit that gives those with widescreen monitors a huge advantage. As pointed out by Neeko2lo,Diablo 4players can use theSorceress class’s teleportanywhere on their screen, meaning the ability will be incredibly overpowered for those with wider monitors. Unfortunately, the exploit applies to other abilities in the game as well.
The video from Neeko2lo demonstrates how the Sorceress can also summon monsters anywhere they want on the screen, summoning a hydra across the map in a far-off area separated by trees. It’s easy to imagine how this could be exploited to let players cheeseDiablo 4’s bosses and combat encounters, essentially trivializing a great deal of the game.
Blizzard will almost certainly address this particular exploit before theDiablo 4release daterolls around in June. One solution that comes to mind would be properly restricting the Sorceress' range so that the size of one’s monitor would be irrelevant. However Blizzard decides to address the problem, it’s unclear if fans will see a fix in the upcoming open beta or if they will have to wait for the game’s launch later this year.
While there have been someissues with theDiablo 4beta, the game seems to be enjoying a mostly positive reception from the franchise’s community. Time will tell if the game will be able to hold on to that positive sentiment by the time it launches, but hopefully these beta tests help Blizzard address the game’s biggest issues before it’s released to the masses.
Diablo 4launches on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
