BioWare is soon releasing a statue based on the belovedDragon Age: Inquisitiontarot cards. ManyDragon Agefans wished to own the cards which appear throughoutDragon Age: Inquisition, and now there’s a chance to become closer to that dream.A significant part ofDragon Age: Inquisition’s art directionconsists of various tarot cards. These designs represent the various characters, factions, and player characters throughout the game. Those who pre-ordered theInquisitor’s Edition back in the day were among the lucky few who could actually own a full physical deck of the tarot cards. The art style has been very popular ever since inspiring countless art pieces within theDragon Agefandom, and those fans who only own the game still wish they could have the actual tarot cards in their possession.RELATED:Dragon Age Inquisition Lead Writer Shares Details of Original Playable Post-Credits SceneAlthough this brand-new merchandise from BioWare is not the full deck of cards, it’s built around one of them. The card in question is “The Sun,” which portraysVarric Tethras playing cards in The Hanged Man, Kirkwall’s tavern. The hand-painted statue, which is nearly 20 cm in height, comes with the entire scenery, showing Varric at his own table, leaning back in his chair. The table is cluttered with cards, cups, and coins and is full of delicate details. This limited-edition statue only has 1,500 individually-numbered pieces and fans can order it in two waves. The first wave is expected to deliver in May 2023, whereas the second one should arrive in November 2023. ThoseDragon Age: Inquisitionfans who are interested will be able to buy the statue for $125.
On top of the statue itself, BioWare will also include the card it was based on. That way fans can at least start gathering the much-coveted tarot collection. There are already two other statues available to purchase in this series, Solas' The Hierophant for $125 limited to 1,100 pieces, andIron Bull’s Wheel of Fortunefor $115 limited to 2,500 pieces. Based on the comments underneath the Twitter announcement, it seems BioWare could gain plenty of income if it just released the tarot deck itself as, to this day, there’s still demand from those who didn’t get the chance to buy the cards.
All of these statues are beautifully crafted and give the opportunity to fans, who love the in-game tarot cards, to show their appreciation on an entirely new level. Likely many hope that all the companion tarot cards will get the same treatment and hopefully, BioWare will eventually release the entire tarot deck. After all, something needs to tide over fansuntil Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is released.
