This update doesn’t reveal much else - no concept art, release window, or gameplay footage - but it was enough for some fans to be satisfied after the initial low-key announcement and silence afterwards aboutDragon’s Dogma 2. Others were also glad to hear that more news about the game will be shared in 2023, with many expressing their excitement and hoping that the developers are able to create something that surpasses the original.
Currently, one of the few things known about the upcoming open-world action RPG is that it will be using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, the same one used for games likeResident Evil 8,Exoprimal, andStreet Fighter 6. The last game that Itsuno directed,Devil May Cry 5, was also built on this engine, so the director has experience working with the tools as well. Itsuno has also stated in the past that only 60-70% of what the team initially wanted was included in the firstDragon’s Dogmagame, and he hoped to include the rest of these ideas into the sequel. Fans will need to wait until later in 2023 till more about the game is revealed.
