Dreamshas been an interesting experiment for PlayStation, being more of a creation tool than an actual game. Media Molecule, the team behind theLittleBigPlanetseries, expressed thatDreamswas to be used by players in a variety of different ways. This is an aspect of the game that fans have gravitated toward the most, with projects ranging from small indie games based on other franchises, or even being used by other companies for large scale projectslike feature films.

One of the most common uses ofDreamswhen it comes to the topic of fan-games, however, is translating a franchise dominant on one platform to the PlayStation 4. While companies like Nintendo have been more apprehensive to players creating fan-games inDreams, evident bycracking down onMariogameswith takedown requests, it seems Microsoft is a tad more lenient with franchises from the Xbox library are represented inDreams, particularlyHalo.

One fan project in particular has been quite popular with players since it’s unveiling. On Reddit, user DISARMEDPOST posted a work in progress video where theyrecreatedHalo InfiniteinDreams. The post was then re-uploaded to the r/halo subreddit sometime later by user hantar7788, which currently sits at a 95% upvote.

While the video is short and doesn’t offer much in terms of heart-pounding action and spectacle thatHalois typically known for, fans are still taken aback by how incredible theDreamsproject looks so far. The photorealistic visuals and accurate depiction of Master Chief’s armor and UNSC rifle are excellently detailed, and appear to be a promising start to where the project can go.

WithDreamsalso beingavailable to use with PlayStation VR, the opportunities that a feature like this may allow for this project is even more tantalizing. This could allow players to fully immerse themselves in the role of Master Chief fighting the Covenant even more than a standardHalogame if utilized to the fullest potential.

As players continue to rife through the content thatDreamshas to offer, along withHalo Infinitehaving the biggest launch in the franchise’s history, it’s exciting to see these two distinctly different games be combined into a prosperous experience. It may be some time until we see the full potential of this project unfold, but it certainly has the makings of a realisticHalogame thus far.
