Fall Guyshas dropped plenty of content since launch, and while new mini-games and gameplay mechanics have been fleshing things out for the game-show battle royale,Fall Guys' crossover skinsremain one of the most sought-after prizes. And now players have a new one to seek out, because Mediatonic has announced that it has added a new skin to the game based on the critically-acclaimed indie platformerGris.
Fall Guyshasn’t shied away from crossing over with some unusual games in the few weeks it’s been out, butGrisseems like a particularly unusual choice. Putting aside the fact that both are published by Devolver Digital, the two could hardly be more different tone-wise.Grisis an artistically and emotionally rich gamewhere players are encouraged to take things at a slower, more contemplative pace.Fall Guys, meanwhile, is all about players scrambling over one another in a madcap rush for the crown.

Regardless of tonal differences, Mediatonic has collaborated with developer Nomada Studios to bringGristoFall Guyswith a new skin that lets players adorn their characters with Gris’ (the protagonist, not the game) distinct blue hair. As far as crossover skins go, it may be a bit simple compared to, say, theskin that lets players dress as Chell fromPortal, but that arguably is more in keeping withGris’ more minimalist art style.
Unfortunately for interested players, it doesn’t look like the Gris skin will be available for long, as it’s slated to leave the Crown Store this Tuesday, September 29. Another potential sticking point is its price, as it currently costs 10 crowns, which is fairly pricey considering thatFall Guys’ crownscan only be earned through winning final rounds and grinding out a season’s Battle Pass. Then again, the game’s crossover costumes are usually the most expensive ones, so most interested players are probably expecting to pay a lot anyway.
Even if they miss out on getting the Gris skin, odds are there will be more crossover skins to look forward to in the near future. Mediatonic has added quite a few since it launched the game with aHalf-Lifeskin, and has expressed interest in other collaborations, including aFall Guys/Fortnitecrossover.
There’s also all of the new cosmetics that Mediatonic has teased for the game’s next season. In addition to the new mini-games, thescreenshots ofFall GuysSeason 2that Mediatonic shared recently have continued to tease all of the new medieval-themed costumes that will be available next week. That’s good news for those who’ve been wishing they can dress their character up like a dragon.
