Even though its popularity isn’t what it was at the height of its zeitgeist,Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockoutremains one of the most played “battle royale” titles on PC and PS4. With next-gen and Xbox versions still in development, however, and with no news on the game’s previously announced Nintendo Switch port, owners of the portable console may have gotten restless already.

However, the developer ofFall Guys, Mediatonic, has gone on record to confirm that the Nintendo Switch version of the game is still on track, even though there’s nothing new to share on that front just yet. Switch owners hoping to play this strangely affable battle royale shouldn’t be too concerned about its eventual release, then.

The sheer scope of popularity enjoyed by this game in its heyday is hard to quantify, with even Hollywood superstars mentioning it as their go-to video game.Tom Holland said he enjoyedFall Guys, for example. That being said, news aboutFall Guys' previously announced Nintendo Switch port was nowhere to be found for quite some time now, which is likely what prompted the developer to mention that it’s still being made.

One of the last official references to this particular version of the game was the original announcement of the fact thatFall Guysis coming to Nintendo Switch, and that was featured as part of Nintendo’s February Direct episode of 2021. Curiously,Fall Guysis yet to launch on any other console aside from its launch-day platforms, PC and PlayStation 4. ThePS5 version ofFall Guyswas rumored to be launching late in 2021, only for those rumors to seemingly fall flat on their face, appropriate as that might be forFall Guys. With Mediatonic assuring its fans that the game is still being developed for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox One and Series consoles, it’s likely that some release dates, at least, will be getting announced over the next couple of months.

In the meantime,Fall Guysis getting cross-platform functionality enabled for PC and PS4, bolstering its effective player base by a fair margin. Though there’s not much to be done for Nintendo Switch and Xbox owners at this time,PS5 players can enjoyFall Guyseven todayvia the platform’s backward compatibility feature.
