Released in June of 1996, theNintendo 64was a revolutionary console for Nintendo. Helping to usher in the 3D era of gaming, the system brought a new dimension of gameplay to popular Nintendo series such asSuper MarioandThe Legend of Zelda. In addition to being fantastic games, these Nintendo 64 titles paved the way for future installments on other gaming consoles. Recently, one creative fan decided to reimagine what the Nintendo 64 would look like in LEGO form.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as Arceus1414 shared a collection of images of a LEGO project they had made. According to the builder, their goal was to create a replica of aNintendo 64out of LEGOs. The console featured a gray color similar to that seen on the 1996 console. In addition, the design contained many of the features of the game system, including controller ports on the front along with a cartridge slot on top. To replicate the look of the original Nintendo 64 design, the builder used a number of small pieces to copy the small vents used for cooling the system.

Arceus1414 went beyond building the console out of LEGOs, they also made a Nintendo 64 controller and game cartridge. Like the console, these peripherals contained a similar amount of attention to detail, such as modeling the game cartridge after theclassic design ofSuper Mario 64. The controller was particularly impressive as the creator noted that constructing the correct shape of the strange-looking peripheral was difficult. Not content with these accessories, the builder also made a power pack, AV cord, and an expansion pack. Several images from the build can be seen below with additional pictures available on the creator’s Reddit post.

The Nintendo community on Reddit loved this new creation from Arceus1414. With over 400 upvotes in only a couple of hours, fans were impressed with the level of detail on display. Many enjoyed the accessories included, while some even thought the design should become anofficial Nintendo LEGO set.
