Unlike many other Nintendo properties,Metroidis an unnerving experience for many, due its remote and inhospitable environments. While games likeThe Legend of Zelda: Majora’s MaskandTwilight Princessfeature a similar unsettling atmosphere, the worlds are always populated with friendly, approachable NPCs that keep players company during the game.Metroid Dreadin particular does a good job of making players feel helpless, due to the inclusion of the EMMIs, an enemy which one fan has featured as part of a Jack-O-Lantern.
