WhileFar Cry 5had both animal and human Guns for Hire,Far Cry 6sticks to animal companions, amigos. There are a total of 5 in-game amigos and 2 more as part ofFar Cry 6’s DLC sets. The first (and easiest) amigo players will get is Guapo the crocodile.
The reason why Guapo is so easy to unlock is that he’spart of the mainFar Cry 6campaign. He’s a useful amigo with special abilities that make him difficult for enemies to kill.

“Juan of a Kind”
AfterFar Cry 6’s title drop, the player will need to guide Dani to Clara’s camp. Upon arrival, a few cutscenes will trigger. Then, they will need to accept the campaign quest called “Juan of a Kind.“Follow the objective marker on the map to Armonia, but be careful of areas highlighted in red on the minimap. Dani should alsoholster their weaponwhen entering populated areas, so they don’t draw any fire from NPCs.
The quest says that Juan can be found at the bar, so look for a building by the docks or follow the signs at the crossroad in town. The player will know they’ve found Juan when a cutscene begins. Next to Juan is a crocodile wearing a jacket. As players would guess,this isFar Cry 6’s Guapo.
Juan will goad Dani into whistling, which causes Guapo to lunge forward and kill a spy behind Dani. Juan will then shoot the barkeeper for selling them out, and the quest will continue. Now, Guapo will be available to fight alongside Dani.
Fight off the soldiers and, once they’re all dead, Guapo will be added as an amigo. There’s another part of “Juan of a Kind” where Juan will want the player to raid an outpost for supplies. The player can either bring Guapo into the encampment, or they canuse stealth to accomplish the mission. There aren’t any alarms at this outpost, so players don’t need to worry about enemies calling for backup. However, if they’re not confident in their skills, they should hold off on using Guapo for this part of the mission.

Guapo Abilities and Gameplay
Players can controlFar Cry 6’s amigosby pressing right on the D-pad. Point to a spot along the ground and tap right to move Guapo, or they can lock onto enemies and tap right on D-pad to have Guapo attack. If they want to call Guapo back, hold down right on D-pad instead.
Guapo is not recommended for stealth-based missions as he will draw enemy attention. Have him sit outside outposts with alarms to avoid drawing hordes of enemies.
And yes, Dani can pet Guapo. There’s even aFar Cry 6achievement/trophyfor doing so.
