He was a practitioner of Kyokugen Karate inGarou: Mark of the Wolves, meaning he has a lot of familiar moves from Ryo Sakazaki and Marco. After the conclusion ofThe King of Fighters 15’s grand finals at the EVO Japan 2024 fighting game tournament, SNK showed off a new trailer for Marco Rodrigues' appearance inCity of the Wolves. A lot of moves from the character’s appearance inthe firstGarou: Mark of the Wolvesgameare used here, such as his Kohouken, Hienshippukyaku, and Ryuusenken, with his Zanretsuken seemingly re-purposed intoCity of the Wolves' REV Blow mechanic. He can be seen demonstrating these moves against a returning Tizoc, who was previously featured in City of the Wolves' reveal trailer.

SNK also gave a brief summary of Marco’s story inCity of the Wolves, where he is the assistant instructor of theKyokugen Karate dojo and fighting style, disciple ofKing of Fightersregular Ryo Sakazaki. After his dojo’s sign gets stolen, Marco has to continue training in another place, Yuri Sakazaki’s Fitness club. Marco Rodrigues is played by Kenichirou Matsuda in Japanese and Earl Baylon in English.
Marco Rodrigues was ahighly-requested fighter to make a return inFatal Fury: City of the Wolves, with many wanting to see his familiar pompadour and hard-hitting karate moves.
