Square Enix has revealed the contents of theFinal Fantasy 16collector’s edition.Final Fantasy 16received a new trailer at The Game Awardsthat gave players more information about its story while showing off its action-packed gameplay. It also confirmed thatFF16will launch on May 30, 2025.Many AAA video games get special collector’s editions that offer all sorts of extra goodies and bonuses. These collector’s editions often come with a figurine of the main character, a steelbook case, some in-game items, and other pieces of memorabilia. As an example, thecollector’s edition ofResident Evil 4comes with a figurine of Leon S. Kennedy, a digital soundtrack, an artbook, and various other physical and digital items. Most notably, it features a figurine depicting a fight between Phoenix and Ifrit. Square Enix has confirmed that pre-orders for the collector’s edition will start on Monday, December 12 at 6 PM PST. Fans should note that collector’s edition ofFF16will be available exclusively on the Square Enix store.
On the other hand, gamers can pre-order thestandard and deluxe editions ofFinal Fantasy 16right now. The details of their contents were leaked before The Game Awards, and they appear to match the official versions. Fans will get digital versions of a mini artbook and a mini soundtrack in the deluxe edition, alongside pre-order bonuses that increase the amount of XP and Gil players earn. Square Enix will also release a physical deluxe edition ofFinal Fantasy 16that comes with the above-mentioned steelbook case and a cloth map of Valisthea.
Overall, the collector’s and deluxe editions ofFinal Fantasy 16appear fairly standard when compared to other AAA games. The price for the collector’s edition doesn’t seem to have been announced yet, so it’ll be interesting to see what Square Enix charges when pre-orders open on December 12.
