Gil is the primary currency used in allFinal Fantasygames. With it, players can usually purchase a variety of unique items to aid each game’s protagonist on their adventure. InFinal Fantasy 16, there are several ways to acquire Gil, but amassing large sums requires some specific approaches.

Whenever players wish to replenish Clive’s potion supply or buy new weapons, accessories, or items, they need to ensure they have the Gil required to do so. Thankfully, there areseveral ways to farm GilinFinal Fantasy 16, but some methods are much more rewarding than others.
Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farm (Early Game)
Players whopre-orderedFinal Fantasy 16will have access to theCait Sith Charm, an accessory that, when equipped,increases the amount Gil Clive earns by 25%. Equipping this accessory from the beginning of the game will allow players to amass ridiculous amounts of Gil while progressing the story, but those hoping to acquire more should focus on completing side quests and defeating specific enemies.
Completingside quests inFinal Fantasy 16is a pretty handy way to acquire some Gil during the early game, but players who wish to earn even more will need to explore Rosaria and Sanbreque and defeat some of the enemies lurking there.Slaying Bluebirdsis a great way to acquire Gil, as they can reward Clive withvaluable items. Items likeGoblin Coins,Black Blood, andGil Bugsserve no purpose in crafting and exist solely to be sold in exchange for Gil. Thebest way to farm Gil from Bluebirdsis to travel north of Northreach, defeat the two Bluebirds that spawn there, fast-travel back to Northreach, and repeat the process.

If players are willing to go above and beyond in the hope of acquiring Gil, there is an exploit they can use involving restorative items. If Clive dies in combat, his restorative items will be replenished once he respawns. Taking advantage of this, players cansell all of Clive’s healables, purposelydie in combatto replenish them, and thensell them againto make a profit. Though this method is a little time-consuming, it can be used indefinitely to farm Gil.
Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farm (Mid Game)
During theHome, Sweet Homemain quest, players can acquire theGolden Testament, an accessory thatincreases Clive’s Gil intake by 35%. Equipping this accessory, alongside the Cait Sith Charm, willincrease the amount Gil Clive earns by 60%. To acquire the Golden Testament, Clive must interact with Charon at her shop in The Hideaway and buy it for5,000 Gil.
Clive will also earn Gil by finding anddefeating Notorious Marks. The rewards earned for defeating a Notorious Mark are listed under said Mark’s description on the Hunt Board, making it easy for players to see what offers the most Gil. If players are unsatisfied with the amount of Gil they earned through hunting Notorious Marks and completing side quests, they can continue farming Bluebirds and selling valuable items.

Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farm (Late Game)
Upon reaching The Kingdom of Waloed, players will likely have amassed a ridiculously large amount of Gil, but nothing is stopping them from earning even more. Again, completing side quests and hunts is a great way to increase the size of Clive’s pockets, but those hoping to see a more substantial increase should seek out theOne Man’s Treasureitem.
The map leading to this item can be found in thenorthwest region of The Great Southern Gatein The Kingdom of Waloed. Once it has been acquired, players can travel to theTitan’s Wakearea of Dhalmekia and proceed into the central southeastern offshoot to find the chest containing it. The One Man’s Treasure can then be sold for100,000 Gil.

A great way to farm Gil during the late game is to visit The Kingdom of Waloed and defeat theHyenaslurking there. The Hyenas tend todrop Goblin Coins quite frequently; they can be found by traveling east from the Ravenwit Walls Obelisk to the very edge of the map.
InFinal Fantasy Mode, players can acquire theGolden Testament 2 accessory, whichincreases the amount of Gil they earn by 50%. This accessory cannot be obtained during first playthroughs, so unless players are willing to play through the story once more, they will not be able to get it.
