Over the years, Epic Games’Fortnitehas innovated upon the battle royale formula in countless ways, whether with weapons, skins, or events. Now over three years old,Fortnitecontinues to find ways to keep players coming back with weekly updates, battle passes, and a plethora of challenges to complete at all times.
One realm of constant controversy for the game has been its vehicles. While the game originally didn’t have a quicker way of traversing its massive map until the addition of the shopping cart in Chapter 1 Season 4, more vehicles have been added over timesuch as motor boats,biplanes, and even full-blown cars and 18 wheelers which were added more recently inFortniteChapter 2 Season 3. However, despite controversy, it seems some ofFortnite’s more outlandish vehicles could be returning to the game soon.

Fortniteleaker FNBRUnreleased shared datamined information on Twitter showing it looks like the game’s golf cart may be making a return, and mentioned recent updates to the older Baller and Hoverboard vehicles may also indicate their return. While the golf cart never caused much of an uproar,issues surrounding the Baller vehicleplagued fans upon its release in Chapter 1 Season 8.
FNBRUnreleased attaches an image in one tweet showing the textures for the golf cart were recently updated. In the past, items that have had their textures updated inFortnite’s files have returned to the game shortly thereafter. For the time being, it is unknown when these vehicles could make a return, though it should be noted that Epic Games did recentlybring back the controversial X-4 Stormwing planeswith a new nerf. Should the Baller and Hoverboards return, it is likelyFortnitewill introduce a similar nerf to balance the vehicles.
While theaddition of a fuel gaugehas beenFortnite’s solution to balancing many of the game’s vehicles, fans have noted that fuel gauges wouldn’t make much sense on the Hoverboard or Baller. Some theorize an electricity gauge could be added to either these vehicles in order to balance them, with charging stations added throughout the game’s map so players can recharge the vehicles should they run out of power.
Fortnitehas been keeping players busy with new challenges and other updates in Chapter 2 Season 5, like abrand new Predator crossover. It will be interesting to see how the game plans on potentially balancing these older, controversial vehicles should they return toFortniteany time soon.
