Fortnite’s latest update fixed a handful of bugs as well as adding some introducing some add-ons, like a new physics change and a newHarley Quinn crossover event.

Fortniteusually uses its weekly updates to fix minor bugs, launch new events, and add new cosmetics (skins, pickaxes, etc.) to the game, but this latest one added a bit more. Developer Epic Games announced that this patch was going to include a physics change as well as aBirds of Preycrossover event that should be live soon.

Update 11.50 included a new, limited-timeSearch and Destroy Mode, which is part of the Love and War Valentine’s Day event for the next week. This event includes a boatload of love and war challenges that players can complete.

Update 11.50 also implemented the new Chaos Physics system, which Epic Games teased in late January. According to Epic,“Fortnite will be moving to Unreal Engine’s Chaos physics system. At launch, the goal is to ensure that Fortnite still feels like Fortnite.“The Unreal Physics engine should allow more realistic scenery destruction and buildings should be much more realistic when they crumble instead of just disappearing on the map. This rollout was what elongated Season 1 anddelayed the release of Season 2.

Other than the groundwork for theBirds of PreyHarley Quinn crossover, there were some other changes and bug fixes included in the update:

The Launch Pad has been unvaulted in non-competitive playlists

The “Earn Gold Scavenger Medals” Rippley vs. Sludge Overtime Challenge now tracks progress properly.

Updated Feedback tool to help with issues with the new Physics system.

Resolved an issue involving some players’ completion of the “Search chests in a single match” Chaos Rising Challenge not being saved.

TheSidegrading featureis no longer present in competitive playlists. Its presence in these playlists was unintentional.

Resolved an issue involving new players on consoles having difficulty matchmaking after first linking their Epic account.

Addressed reports of iOS players activating their device’s swipe-up feature when trying to press inventory buttons.

The update brought in a lot of great changes to the game, including some needed fixes for known bugs. It also brought about the Love and War challenges and the new Chaos Physics changes. For some players, their first encounter with the system will be as part of theBirds of Preycrossover event, but there are likely moreFortnitecrossover eventsplanned for the future.
